Extended use, mic stops responding.
« on: February 12, 2012, 01:50:48 AM »
Hey there, I noticed after long peiods of use (or rather having Vox open in the background) it stops detecting microphone activity. I keep Vox in standby mode usually in the background incase I want to launch music without clicking Media Monkey, etc.

I also noticed if it does pick up my voice, it tends to not understand what I say a lot of the time or I need to yell for it to. Again this is after extended periods of use. If I restart Vox it works flawlessly.

Using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit and Vox version 0.939.

Also have a Turtle Beach Earforce X12 headset if you're curious.

If you need more information let me know and I'll get it for you.

Hi BulletUpTheAss, in VC Option-Menu go to advanced tab and set a timer on reintialize the mic entry. Some mic's (mostly USB) stops when it is not use for a longer time.

You should also be able to reinitialize the mic by switching VC to "off" mode and then back on again.  You should not need to restart VC.

I can't imagine why your recognition reliability would down down over time (unless your mic is somehow auto adjusting volume over time or something like that) but I'm curious whether turning VC off and on fixes it (without having to restart VC).

Turning it off then on (without restarting) does fix it as well, sorry I forgot to mention that lol.
