I am trying to figure it out what is going on but I'm having a hard time recreating the problem...  It seems to work fine with tellvox, but I cannot test with actual voice commands at the moment because there are people here.  I will try to figure it out today though.  Sorry for the trouble.

Let me just check the situation:

- you are using the default command tree that I included in MediaMonkey 0.845
- it works if you set the prefix to "media monkey" and then issue a command like "media monkey play song old friends"
- if you change the prefix to "monkey", restart, and then issue a command like "monkey play song old friends" it seems to accept the command, but nothing happens.

does the command show up in the command history window?
does anything show up in the alternates window?

Hi James, yes the command show in the command history window, but does nothing. In earlyer  version 0.841 it works fine.

Greetings Kalle

if you are downloading the 0.845 version from the download page (should be the same as on the forum - I think) and only changing the prefix, then it should work.  That is what I just did and it works fine with the prefix monkey.  :bonk :bonk :bonk

Skylive:

Please note that I changed the default commands from play and pause, to "music play" and "music pause" because the one word commands get fired off accidentally too often.  Of course you can change this back but for new users who don't use prefix mode, I wanted to avoid that problem.

So "Monkey Play" would not work, but would show up because it is waiting for you to finish the sentence.  eg "Monkey Play Artist Beck" or "Monkey Play Next".

Kalle:

The fact that it is showing up in your command history but not doing anything is really REALLY weird.  I can't explain it.  Unless it is having trouble connecting to MediaMonkey, but this has nothing to do with prefix mode.

Wanilton says he tested 0.845MM with the prefix "monkey" and it worked fine...

Please test some other prefixes, and some other commands.

If you can't get it to work, tell me exactly what you are starting with, AND exactly what you are modifying in options or the command tree.

Or send me a zip of your complete folder.

Or get this version: http://www.voxcommando.com/downloadMM.asp
don't change anything at all except the  prefix, and let me know what happens.

Ok, now I am totally confused  ??? ??? ???

Prefix works with almost every Command.

Except Pause and Play Commands.

I changed the Phrases to "Pause, unterbrechen, halt" and "Play, weiter gehts, kann losgehen, kann wieder losgehen" , as you can see in the my voicecommands.xml:

Code: [Select]
...

  <command name="Music Pause" enabled="true" confirm="False" loop="False" loopDelay="0" loopMax="0" description="">
            <action>
                <cmdType>MM.Pause</cmdType>
                <cmdString />
                <cmdRepeat>1</cmdRepeat>
            </action>
            <phrase>Pause, unterbrechen, halt</phrase>
        </command>
        <command name="Music Play" enabled="true" confirm="False" loop="False" loopDelay="0" loopMax="0" description="">
            <action>
                <cmdType>MM.Play</cmdType>
                <cmdString />
                <cmdRepeat>1</cmdRepeat>
            </action>
            <action>
                <cmdType>OSD.ShowText</cmdType>
                <cmdString>{lastresult}</cmdString>
                <cmdRepeat>1</cmdRepeat>
            </action>
            <phrase>Play, weiter gehts, kann losgehen, kann wieder losgehen</phrase>
        </command>
...

Play and Pause work on green mode, but not on yellow Mode with prefix.

OK James and Skylive,

ihope i found it!

All groups have a prefix in properties "MM Basic" = Basic as prefix --> what i do, i delete this prefix, and the prefix from option work fine.

Skylive test this please

PS: Skylive, from where do you come? Ich habs im Profil gesehen, ok sorry ;-)

Skylive, im Editmodus ist jeder Gruppe ein Prefix zugeordnet (recht Maustaste auf die Gruppe --> properties, lösche dort mal den Prefix und schau mal ob dies funktioniert)

thank you!  ;D  I was sure that I had checked the prefixes were all clear!  And I don't know why the commands were still working for me...  but I just checked again after your post and the prefix is marked as "basic" !

So now I am updating the code, to highlight groups if they have a prefix override, or if they have a priority other than 0.

Certainly not me.

In the end it will lead to a better product.  I had been meaning to highlight those 'special' groups but this forced me to do it right away.

If you still have the patience can you try the latest?

Good Job Guys. You solved the problem.

Deleting Override Prefix was the solution for me too.
That explains, why most commands worked with prefix, and the commands from the Group "MM Basic" did not work on prefix mode.

Now everything works fine.

0.851 testing is planned for tomorrow  ;)

Tomorrow I will post the xbmc version 0.851

I was planning to do it today, but I think I'm sick.  Everything is going in slow motion...
