Help needed with USB-UIRT from usbuirt.com
« on: June 12, 2020, 06:13:55 AM »
I purchased USB-UIRT device from usbuirt.com. However, the device is not visible in VoxCommando 2.3.0.4 with the device status and code learning dialogs greyed out. Whey I click on Reinitialize UUIRT, got the message Failed to connect to device.

Appreciate any help in troubeshooting this issue.

What version of the usbuirt software have you installed? Is it working with that software?

Win7_Win8_Win10_Vista_v20601_signed.zip

Even though the filename includes Win10, the header of the .inf file does not have Win10

So you followed the directions on this page?

http://www.usbuirt.com/getstart.htm

What version of Windows are you using?

Have you tested it with any other software to make sure it's installed correctly?

Such as http://usbuirt.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5943

I am using Win10

Using the link provided, I downloaded LrnHelper.exe and it works fine. I am able to learn IR codes and transmit it back using this utility.

It would be nice if it worked with VoxCommando. Earlier I tried with stable version and again with beta version, both unsuccessfully.

Maybe you have the ability to try the USBUIRT on a other PC. For me it sounds the needed com port is already in use, but it is only a guess.

If LrnHelper.exe works correctly then it seems unlikely to be a port issue.

I have not used my USBUIRT for many years and I have never tested it with Windows 10.

I will dig mine out and see if it works on Windows 10 and try to report back here tomorrow.

OK.  I tested my UUIRT (mine is very old) on Windows 10.  I installed the driver "Win7_Win8_Vista_v20601_signed.zip" and tested with VoxCommando 2.2.4.7 and with the latest beta.

With VC 2.2.4.7 I had no issues.

With the Beta you need to run the 32bit version of VoxCommando (VoxCommando32.exe).  I guess the maybe the UUIRT drivers are 32 bit only.

If neither of those solutions work for you then I'm not sure why.  If you are running any other programs that might be connecting to the UUIRT try to close them first before running VC in case there is a conflict with two programs trying to access the same device.
