I love it.  I should put you in charge of marketing. :-)

What is the fancy light on the surface in front of your monitors?

I got it as a gift - but I found it online.  It's called the "Lightcast Interactive Music Lightshow".  It only has 3 plugs on it - Power, Line In, and Line Out.  Feed your TTS out through a separate sound card and into the line in on this thing, then through the line out to your TTS speakers.  Here's a detailed "ad" I found on yourtube describing and showing off the unit:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM5ybDe4tiY

For the awesome effect, it is mounted 1 inch below the frosted glass on my desk which I frosted myself with a roll of frost tint from a local home improvement store (Home Depot, Lowes in the US).

In reality though, any "light show" type device that utilizes the simple line-in method could be used...  This unit happened to fit and LOOK just right, as it's circular and multi-colored...  Makes me think of an upgraded HAL.

Haha Imran, it looks like you can create this led by your self. I thing the lightcast itself is a bit to big (in my case)  ;)

Yes, the effect is awesome.  What you did looks  WAY cooler than the youtube demo of the device.

I have something like this with a similar card remote except it is a LED stip.  Combined with eventghost and a USBUIRT I can request specific colors. But ya, I thinis responds to ALL sounds, probably from an internal mic that listens to the whole room.  Great for music and parties, but wont react to only TTS for the voice effect.

Loved it! Can you do a video of how to set this up in Voxcommando?

Of how I did the original video or how I'm controlling my LED light strip?  Nothing fancy in the original, just a few scripted question and response TTS, ie, I say "what should we do tonight?" which is a voice command that responds with TTS:  "The same thing we do every night..."

That reminds me, in case you did not know, you can use multiple TTS responses in your parameter separated by | (pipe symbol) and VC will pick one randomly.

e.g.
Code: [Select]
<action actiontype="TTS.Speak" repeat="1" logic="False"><paramstring>The same thing we do every night | I think you know the answer to that one</paramstring></action>
