Controlando receiver usando VoxCommando e Eventghost
« on: April 10, 2011, 08:50:46 AM »

http://voxcommando.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=449.0;attach=467 release 04/05/2011

http://www.eventghost.com/downloads/EventGhost_0.3.7.r1494_Setup.exe release 04/05/2011

Feito a ligação

ver no histórico o Seguinte:
Broadcast.

I am interested in this one: Onkyo TX-NR509

http://www.onkyo.ca/model.cfm?class=Receiver&m=TX-NR509

does anyone know anything about it?  It does not have rs-232 but seems to have some kind of network connection... ?

this one is available for $350 at newegg.com (I'm not sure where I can get it in Canada)

That is my upper limit on what I would spend, assuming I can control it with VoxCommando, and it can do multi-room audio. (which I think this does)

It would also need to be energy efficient when in standby.  I don't want something creating heat and burning electricity when I am not using it.

Pass-though audio/video when it is powered off (so I can pass regular stereo signal to my TV) while it is turned off, is also important, so that I can watch TV with the stereo off without having to rewire it.

James,
Newegg is having a great sale on the YAMAHA RX-V867 which I think would do everything you would want and more.  However, even with the sale it is a bit over your stated dollar ceiling.  Thought I would point it out anyway.  Regards.
Mike

woo.  that is WAY over, but thanks anyway.

I'm pretty sure I'd be happy with the Onkyo, but they don't carry it at newegg.ca

I'm looking locally.  I've found some places but so far they are charging much more than newegg.

Are you sure you were looking at the correct price.  It is listed at $799 but they are having a sale that takes off $320.  So it is about $75 over your budget.

Looks like a great deal with the promo code. Unfortunately, it's only available through the U.S. Newegg site, not the Canadian one. Newegg has a separate Canadian website for Canadian orders--the U.S. site doesn't ship to Canada, and if it did, the duty and international shipping charges would likely be prohibitive.

TIPS: POST VC VERSION #. Explain what you want VC to do. Say what you've tried & what happened, or post a video demo. Attach VC log. Link to instructions followed.  Post your command (xml)

my mistake, but yeah, I can't shop at newegg.com and that would be $130 over.  But I thought it was $799 AFTER the discount.  LOL.

There's a local guy that sells Onkyo equipment, and I'm waiting to hear back from him to see if he can get this unit, and what it would cost.  In any case, I've lived this long without one so it's no big deal either way!

This truly is an international forum.  I guess I should have thought about that.  I was considering the receiver myself but even with the promo, it is over my budget of $0.

that's a bit closer to my "actual" budget.  But budgets, like rules, are made to be broken.
