Kodi and Eventghost
« on: April 13, 2015, 04:43:07 PM »
I can't seem to get Kodi to close with the "Close Kodi" command. It pops up and tries to close, but nothing happens. I assume that something is not configured properly with eventghost. Which leads me to ask, does the xbmc2 plugin work with Kodi or is there something else I am supposed to use to get Kodi to close?

Are you referring to the "close Kodi" command in VoxCommando?

It's not clear from your post why Eventghost would have anything to do with this. Are you also using Eventghost with Kodi?
TIPS: POST VC VERSION #. Explain what you want VC to do. Say what you've tried & what happened, or post a video demo. Attach VC log. Link to instructions followed.  Post your command (xml)

Yes, the "Close Kodi" command doesn't close Kodi. VC acts like it wants to close it, but the window stays open.

What does this have to do with EventGhost?

Is it possible that you didn't install the VoxTools addon in Kodi?

http://voxcommando.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Installation_XBMC_Frodo#IMPORTANT:_Install_the_VoxTools_Addon_for_XBMC

(VoxCommando does not use Eventghost to control Kodi/XBMC, if that is part of the confusion here. VC interacts directly with Kodi.)

I can see Repo VC is enabled, but nothing happens. I will try to delete it and install it again.

Sorry, I had the repo installed, but not the addon. I was under the impression the addon was automatically installed after I clicked install from zip. Thank you!

Sorry to keep bothering you, but does xbmc2 work with Kodi. I am only asking because I am having problems getting it to connect. I figure it doesn't because Kodi is named differently than XBMC and is saved in a different location.

This is the VoxCommando forum.  You should be posting this question to the EventGhost forum.  I'm not sure why you are asking us this.

Understood. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction at least. I only asked because I saw a section for eventghost...

That would be for discussing interaction between VC and EG.

For example: how to trigger events in one program from the other, how to pass payloads etc.
