Tuning to PVR channels by name
« on: January 22, 2016, 06:16:52 PM »
Hey, kind of a newbie but has anyone set up VoxCommando to open live TV channels in Kodi by name. Does anyone know what the JSON or built-in function command for doing that would be?

I already have Vox grabbing the data from xbmcTvChannels.xml. Would that contain channel names? Even if it didn't I'd be fine setting up commands for every channel manually if I had to.

I don't know if you tried to search for it already, but Live TV in Kodi is a topic that has come up quite a bit on the forum.

James has now posted a collection of Kodi Live TV commands here: http://voxcommando.com/forum/index.php?topic=2480.

It's basically an aggregation of the main, live TV/PVR commands that have been posted on the Kodi board at one point or another.

If you're already generating that payload XML, you can always take a look in the file yourself to see if it contains the channel names.

TIPS: POST VC VERSION #. Explain what you want VC to do. Say what you've tried & what happened, or post a video demo. Attach VC log. Link to instructions followed.  Post your command (xml)
