mySQL Scan aborted
« on: December 28, 2015, 06:07:26 AM »
Hello,

I've run across in issue that I'm hoping I can get help on. When I attempt to  generate .xml using the xmysql plugin I get an..Unknown column 'idGenre' in 'field list' error. I'm using MySQL 5.5 with Kodi 15.2 and VoxCommando 2.2.1.3 .

I believe the configuration for Kodi 15.2 was updated in VC 2.2.1.3.

However, if you had previously installed an older version and then updated to 2.2.1.3 your settings would not have been changed.

Try this:

1 - close VC
2 - find and delete the file .\plugins\xMySql\Options.xml
3 - restart VC, and go to xMySql settings.
4 - enter the server (if necessary), username, and password.

Try "Save and Generate" again.

Please note that everyone who upgraded to VC 2.2.1.3 should be updating immediately to VC 2.2.1.4 because of a critical bug fix.

TIPS: POST VC VERSION #. Explain what you want VC to do. Say what you've tried & what happened, or post a video demo. Attach VC log. Link to instructions followed.  Post your command (xml)

OK I tried what James suggested with no luck. I also got the same error message with ver 2.2.0.9. So I'm beginning to believe it's an error with MySQL setup.

Are you new to using MySql with Kodi?

Maybe you don't have any music in your Kodi library, or maybe none of your music has any genre tags.

I can tell you that the defaults that ship with 2.2.1.3 and 2.2.1.4 work fine for me.

Do all your other xml files generate OK?  If so, I don't think you need to worry about it too much.

James, I narrowed down the problem. I have a lot of movies in my collection and I have them all sorted in Kodi using a personal genre I created in MediaElch. And when I allowed Kodi to scrape my movie collection and create it's own genre the error message went away. But since I don't really care to use VC to play movies by genre (I use the cinema experience voice commands for movies) it's not a big issue.

Thanks for the help I can see why you have the title "Hero Member"  ;D

This one solved my movie genre issue. However not a big deal but TV26 should be TV29.

Thanks for mentioning this. We don't have TV here, so it's easy to overlook. This will be fixed in the next release.
