New Wifiremote compatability
« on: May 03, 2012, 06:24:42 PM »
A new wifiremote plugin was recently released (0.6.1) and since installing it VC cannot connect with MediaPortal, OSD keeps popping up saying 'Trying to connect to MediaPortal' and the history window on VC shows 'MPWIFIAuthenticating...'

Alternatively I also installed a new 'MPExtended' Application, both the new WIFIRemote and MPExtended are required for the latest version of AMPdroid to allow it to control MP and Give it access to the MP databases.

Not sure which one is causing the problem with VC.

WIFIRemote 0.6.1
MPExtended

Hopefully im not just being a fool and got something in a pickle but it's stopped working when I updated these so I'm assuming it's connected in some way.

Cheers

you better check your settings.  That version of wifiremote was released in March and I haven't had any problems with it.  I don't know about MPExtended, but it should not matter AFAIK.

check your IP address, your username and password, and also make sure that neither program is being blocked by your firewall.  You can disable your firewall temporarily to make sure.

also, to be honest, I did not know there was an "English" flag that differed from the British flag.  You can upload your own image, but then people might think you work for the red cross :)

Cool.  I probably should have known that.  This explains why it's called the union flag!  :bonk

Now what I need to learn is the precise meaning of "couldnt be asses"  :biglaugh
