Simple and awesome : the clapper
« on: January 25, 2014, 01:03:11 PM »
Hi,

I'm looking for a new function that allow to launch a script just by clapping hands. EventGhost doesn't seems to include this function and I'm wondering if you can integrate just a piece of code to include this function. That would be great :D

This plug-in is not working : https://github.com/gbruin/Clapper
And this one is old and restrictive but open source : http://www.pclapper.com

Thank you

From what I can see neither one of those works.

... integrate just a piece of
BROKEN
code to include this function.

 :biglaugh

Did you look at the source?  Apart from the fact that it does not work, it is not a "piece" of code it is about 40 files that don't compile.  I think maybe this was written for XP or something.

Hi,

I don"t really know how to create a program, maybe that why I'm asking if someone can do it  :big laugh
In fact the event ghost plugin look really simple, so I was thinking if it was possible to make it work.

And I'm sorry if they are mistakes in me sentence but I'm a french student.
You know "FRENCH" ... ^^'

And if the adventure stops here, thank you for your answers ;)

OK.  Sorry for my negativity.

My point is that it is probably not so simple as you think.

Your English seems to be fine.  Your written English is better than that of many of the English people online.  You said that one was "not working" and the other was "restrictive".  I assumed that meant that it was working on some level so I wasted my time trying to download (had to use wayback machine to get this since the developer's site is also broken) and trying to get this program working only to find out that it does not work.  I don't like wasting my time.  I never seem to have enough of it.

Maybe one day I will write some code to do this, but really it seems a bit redundant to have a clapper plugin when you already have full voice control.  You can always create a command "clap" and then just say "clap" to trigger it.  >:D

Thanks for the time you put in to try & test this James,

I'm just on the hunt for a Vox/EventGhost Clapper plugin as i use Vox/Eventghost to turn my TV & sound system/radio on & off.

My problem is that when i am listening to the radio vox cant hear a word i say (mic is on top of TV).
If i could find a clapper plugin (like was in development in the previously mentioned link below) with frequency restrictions (preferably adjustable) i could clap or double clap to quieten the music & vox could hear my command.

If there are any developers reading this & unable to find a solution, please consider making this plugin as i think it would be very useful for movies & music (& even game) lovers.

Thanks again JitterJames for this awesome piece of software.

Thank you James,
Everyone does not bother to do what you have already started ;-)

In fact I'm in the same situation as Firedomain, and I can't use VoxCommando in my living room.
I want to use the clapper to stop the musique easily.

Thank you again,

A.P

I think what you guys really should use is not a clapper but a webcam to capture gestures to turn VC on because when you're watchin "the sound of music" full blast your clap won't get picked up :D  http://www.techplusme.com/software/control-pc-hand-gesture
