XBMC for Android and VC

Hey everyone.

Because I'm a poor student I need to look for cheap solutions for a HTPC. Since the arrival of the raspberry pi there have been some interesting, low cost, mini PC's developed running the android OS.
Examples: Odroid x, MK802, Mele A1000 and my personal favourite Ouya (which will receive (link)official XBMC development). These devices are far cheaper (<150$), more compact and economical then true HTPC's and offer nearly the same level of functionality (and more).

My plan is to install VC on a Windows 7 PC (old laptop which I will be using as a media server). I will then use Voxwav on my phone to control VC on the laptop. I will configure it so that it can control my desktop PC upstairs (which also has VC installed, by using Tellvoxcommando or something) and control my (furture) android based HTPC.

XBMC for android is currently being developed, and already has a (link)working beta which is pretty functional (except for library mode). I installed it on my android phone and naturally I had to test if I could get Voxcommando to send commands to this XBMC version (just changing the IP in the VC XBMC settings tab to my android phone's ip).
After doing a quick test, I can conclude that XBMC for android is completely controllable with Voxcommando!! How awesome is that  .

This only goes for XBMC for android though. I've spend a couple of hours on the internet finding solutions to control android with eventghost, a udp keyboard emulator or other software compatible with Voicecommando but no success.

What do you guys think?

One can can install eventghost on another computer (windows or linux) and use Voxcommando in combination with eventghost to control that pc (well, I think so anyway, not 100% sure).
(link) Eventghost for android however is pretty limited, and doesn't have a plugin that allows remote control of an android OS.
This is one of the options I tried to have VC control an android device, but I failed in my attempts.

Can I change an app's settings / press it's buttons ?

Standard Android doesn't allow an app to change, poke, prod or peek at anything within another app, including simulating keypresses and screen taps.

On a rooted device, you can use some of the actions in the Input categorytonavigatearoundanapp,clickonUI elements and enter text automatically.

i don't think openremote is going to help here sorry.
What about trying something like vnc for android

I've looked into VNC and teamviewer, but I don't see how I could get that to work with VC  

Tbh: I'm more than happy to find XBMC on android working with VC. Total android control would have been a nice bonus.

What exactly do you want to be able to control on your android?  I believe you can control a number of things already using eventGhost and Tasker, including launching other apps.

Are you willing to root it, or have you already?

no, he already can and has succeeded in doing that.

I have it rooted already and I have tasker installed. I'll look into it if I can control the program with VC. This would provide some basic functionality indeed.
