Support for Mediaportal default video database
« on: January 28, 2012, 04:29:02 PM »
Many people use the default mediaportal video section and not Movingpicture or MyFilms plugins for their movies, I myself use it for my Stand up comedy DVD's as it keeps them separate from movies and TV shows so would be nice to be able to use this in a similar way to moving pictures.

Assuming Mediaportal makes it possible.

OK.  It should at least be possible to play them using "MpWifi.PlayVideoFile".  But I don't know if it will register them as having been watched, or if that matters.  I don't know if there would be other issues.  Adding them to MpScan is probably not going to be a problem.

I dont think the default video database flags as watched anyway, cant say ive ever noticed watched icons unless i dont have the option turned on somewhere.

Sorry this took me so long.  Here's an updated mpscan plugin, and a command to play the video.

- Put MpScan.dll into your plugins\MpScan folder, replacing the old .dll file.

- Import the xml into your main tree in the command tree editor.

- Use the MpScan plugin to rescan your data.

Let me know how it goes!  :D

I'm sorry to hear that.  I quite like Windows 7, but I never really had a big problem with Vista either.

Got it working now, had wrong version of wifi remote  :bonk

For some reason despite there efforts to make vista/7 easier to use I just find it much more complecated to use, I hate the start menu design, much prefer the XP one and the search function is just useless. if I have to search my htpc I do it via my XP desktop machine, it's easier and actually finds the files you know exist.

I guess I've really just not used it enough to get the hang of it with it being only the backend to my HTPC I don't really see it much.

I've tried it on my main PC a couple times but the longest I lasted was 3 days with things like fort knox security and the fact that you need to be the President to have enough permissions to delete an empty folder off the desktop was enough to drive me back to XP

God knows what the security on windows 8 is going to be like.
