Is there something you need to do in LCARS to enable those keys?  I can't get them to do anything when entering them manually on my keyboard.

Nothing special is needed to be done in lcars47.exe.

Instructions.

1. Engage Launchcontrol.exe.
2. Launch Prolixus.
3. Try keys A,S,D,Q,W,E on the keyboard, they should work.
4. To launch an Alert, click on SYS DIRECTORY button , then particle scan or others, then PRESS 3 on the keyboard for red alert 0 to turn off, 2 for blue alert, or click button 65-233584 it's on the left hand side next to COMMUNICATION, click again for auto destruct sequence, the buttons above the  RED alert button are for blue alert and turn off alert.
there are other ways to launch a red or blue alert  by choosing  mission ops, vessel status then hit 2 on your keyboard for blue alert, 3 for red alert, 0 to turn off alert.

Haha, yes and I would prefer to use pictograms instead of numbers
