iTunes / Re: Any iTunes Users?
« on: September 05, 2010, 08:23:38 PM »
Hi,

I don't really use itunes for media, only for updating my iphone.
I use xbmc for music and video but I sure someone out there would find it a good addition

VoxCommando Basics and Core Features / Re: Home automation

Hi again,

Programs like homeseer, mcontrol and linuxmce all support z-wave.  It is far more advanced then x10, a10 etc.
Smarthome international and Australia sell it here are some links

http://www.smarthome.com/_/ProductResults.aspx?Ntt=z-wave
http://www.smarthome.com.au/zseries/z-wave.php#utm_source=zwaveoz&utm_medium=banner&utm_content=rhs&utm_campaign=inoz

there is also a device I am looking at getting which controls zwave and is able to accept command through upnp.
You can get one for only $99 US if you develop a plugin for it.  This product is really the best option because it controls your home automation without your computer being turned on.  But when you htpc is on it could send commands to it.

Eventghost have mentioned that they may add a z-wave plugin but not as yet.
Anyway, food for thought.

Hi,
Just wondering if there will be a way to catch the html reply from xbmc.
For example, I can say what song is this and have it send GetMusicLabel(200) which is the artists name and this information shows up in the small box in voxcommando but is there or will there be a way to grab that information and use tts to say it to you?

Regards

Wireless lighting and appliance control.  So you can dim your lights close curtains etc when you play a movie, all automatically hopefully  :-\
Heres a link http://www.z-wave.com/modules/ZwaveStart/
Makes it very easy to setup home automation with zwave

I can not get the move payload to work correctly. I can get it to send out the command ie XBMC:move(down, 3) but I just get a html error.

sending this command to xbmc: http://192.168.1.101:8080/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=move(down, 3)
XBMC: <html><li>Error</html>

Just wondering how I could incorporate z-wave lighting with voxcommando.  I have looked at eventghost but it does not seem to support z-wave control.  Do you know of anything else?
