Yes, I automatically assumed all buttons were RF capable.  I guess we know what happens when you ASSume things. 

The reviews of the Amulet here and elsewhere do discuss the company's choice to use IR for the buttons, and RF only for the audio transmission. It's too bad, and others before you have lamented this too. Since we rely probably 80% of the time on voice control for our home setup, that's the main feature we care about. We use the remote buttons primarily to power on devices, for pause/play, and the arrow keys occasionally. But everyone's needs are different. Hopefully your post will help other users to keep that in mind.

Its too bad as I think this would give the remote much more power and flexibility.  Hopefully, I can set it up well enough and convince the family to switch over to voice control so the button presses become a non-issue.

Just wanted to let everyone know I received my remote last night. Didn't play around a lot but notice few things.
1. The hard-buttons only generate IR events (let me know if I'm wrong). I was really hoping I would see hard button events via the provided RF receiver so I can eliminate the line of sight issue and control everything with combination of VC and Eventghost.

2. The keys make a tick sound when pressed. The tick sound may get annoying when the remote  is used during quiet scenes in the movie. Also, in my opinion the tick sound makes the remote feel cheap.

I haven't tried voice control yet but I'm not expecting any issues as I've heard lots of good things about that.

Is is possible to have sub-level of groups (folders) in the command editor window so I can better organize my command groups?  Apologies if this is already possible but I have not been able to do it.

I meant, the http commands seem to be slower than using the vera api.

I agree the performance of the raw commands is not related to VC.  I was just mentioning in general as I've always found them to be slower.  Plus my network is getting bigger so that could also add to performance issues.  I may need to do some tweaking on Vera (per recommendations on the micasaverde forum) to improve this.

When I walk over to the lock and lock/unlock it, I do see activity in the VC log but I also see System.NullReferenceException: logged in there. Not sure if that means anything but I've attached the log file showing this.

I can conform the Vera.Raw commands provide by James do work but are slow (lock takes about 10 seconds to react).
Indeed the ""poll/generate events" option is selected in the plugin and I do see device/scene events in the history window except for the lock.

I'm not at home so I didn't want to attempt to lock/unlock but executing the xml provided by James seems to return the correct status (1) while Vera.Get.Status always returns 0.

1. I've attached the log file.  I triggered events by opening and closing the lock manually.
2. I cannot get the status of the lock using Vera.Get.Status. It should be in the above log file.
3. I cannot close/open the lock using Vera.SetState. It should be in the above log file.
4. The plugin version is 0.1.6.0
Indeed, its an expensive hobby.  But then again, which hobby isn't?

I have schlage lock which supports Service=urn:micasaverde-com:serviceId:DoorLock1 but I don't see any events being generated in VC.  Veralite is definitely generating events as I can see them in the vera log.  FYI, I do see events from other devices (such as door sensors and switches) in VC.  Any ideas?  Below is part of the log from vera, if its of any help.  Note, I'm using VeraAlerts plugin, so some logging may be related to that.

It is fine to use python but you can certainly do what you want without it.

You're probably right but I like python and need the practice

You are adding the data in the parameter where the filename is supposed to go, so that won't work.

You need to define a function in your file and load that file once using PY.ExecFile once (usually done using the VC.Loaded event) and then you send the data in a call to the function.

You can call the function and pass it parameters like this:

PY.ExecString  myFunction({1},{LastEvent})

Yeah I read this in the documentation but wasn't sure if I could pass parameters directly to the script file.  I will implement using a function.

If you need specific help with this still, please post your code.  P.S. version 2 of VC will allow you to get a response from the server in a new action Tcp.Client.Query

If you need help with the regex for the returned values let me know.  I will need to see what kind of different messages you get from the Denon for volume, mute, and anything else that you think would be relevant.

Thanks.  I'm actually trying to use the PY plugin and pass {1} and {LastEvent} as parameters to the python script file.
The action is PY.ExecFile C:\Utils\voxcommando\data\DenonStatus.py {1} {LastEvent}
The above is triggered successfully by DenonAVR1 event and following is captured in the history window.
PY.ExecFile:C:\Utils\voxcommando\data\DenonStatus.py&&MUOFF\x0D&&DenonAVR1

My question is, how do I retrieve the {1} and {LastEvent} values inside the script so I can process them?  FYI, I'm using PY instead of regex directly as its more flexible and I may do some other processing in the script.
