General Discussion / Can TTS just play a wav file?
« on: November 14, 2014, 08:09:33 PM »
I know, I'm always crazy :)

My deal is I want to be able to send some wav files to the same audio endpoint that TTS is using (I move it between stereos kind of thing).  Since these files are pre-recorded, I don't want a payload converted to wav and then played.  I honestly searched first :)

Know what I mean?

Can anyone offer thoughts?

General Discussion / Basic setup complete, now looking for some easy wins!
« on: February 28, 2014, 06:15:10 PM »
Hi everyone,

I have my initial setup running and am very pleased with the results.

Vox controlling scenes/devices from vera
Vox controlling my IR devices via usb uirt (haven't found I needed event ghost, Vox does everything I need  ;D)
Using Amulet remote for voice input
And, of course controlling xbmc

Now I am looking to trick things out a bit further, but my time is limited to short bursts of freedom.  I see many members working through various projects so I want to put this out there.  Does anyone have any fun/useful items they can share that are pretty much ready to go (minimal tweaking required to get working and stable)?

So far I've stolen (not really) the trek acknowledgements from  Agilehumour (thanks man!) but I am hoping others can add some easy wins for me.

Come on Vox community, hook a brother up!

General Discussion / Can Vox still run when Windows desktop is locked?
« on: February 19, 2014, 01:04:58 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am having heaps of fun with Vox, Vera, Amulet and as many Z-wave devices I can make up reasons to buy.  I've hit something stupid that I can seem to work around - Vox stops working when I lock my windows workstation.  When I log back in, the GUI is active, but I have to restart it to get it working again.  Played around with difference ways to run Vox as a service but I can't get it to go.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time.
