Integration Ideas / Plex
« on: May 24, 2020, 01:55:12 AM »
Plex hasnt been brought up in a while.  I do not really use Kodi/XBMC primarily because I dont really care for dealing with repos, channels, etc.  I like Plex because it simply works without dealing with any of that.

Anyhow, Plex (client not server) runs off a web browser with an localaddress: port: just like the Google Speech API.  Having said that, in theory it should be doable to get VC to control it.

Has anyone ever gotten Plex to work?  I did a forum search before posting this and did not see any integrations.

Integration Ideas / Easy Inexpensive Cell Phone Integration?
« on: November 15, 2017, 12:55:44 PM »
Hey all, been a while.  Just got back from an extended break away from VC (Several years).

I am really needing a good cell phone integration.  I know of a good litter program called Remote Phone Call.  It has an SDK that could possibly work with VC.  If someone could get this going, it would be a really good inexpensive way to integrate our cell phones.  Sir, so-in-so is messaging you would like me to read it to you?  Or perhaps, sir, so-in-so is calling, would you like to answer it or have me tell them you will call them back?

Would be really cool.

https://www.justremotephone.com/ is their URL.

API URL can be found here...

This is a video showing it off (KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A 2013 VIDEO)

Other Plugins / Wemo Plugin
« on: August 31, 2014, 09:50:42 PM »
James,

Thanks for officially adding a Wemo plugin.  It works.  However partial.  I have several Wemos.  I have a plug, an insight plug, motion detector, and 2 wall light switches and VC only finds the initial plug and not the others.  Do you have any idea as to why?

Here is the one it finds....

Here are the others it does not...

Insight Plug...

Motion Detector...

and Wall Switches...

General Discussion / Commands for multiple Belkin Wemos
« on: July 08, 2014, 11:39:49 AM »
Kalle,

Here is what I want to do, I want to use Denise as a talking head like you did.  However I also want to control my home automation setup without using eventghost if possible.  One way I can control my devices is with IFTTT by sending email triggers.

http://youtu.be/HJuZXMzqiWQ

The problem I have faced with V.C. is that I do not know if it is possible to compose or even send email.  I see that you can call or get email but did not see anything about sending one.  In the video above, I show Denise toggling my devices by sending email triggers.

VoxCommando Basics and Core Features / XML From Tasker
« on: July 08, 2014, 02:40:13 AM »
I was wondering if I could take some XML files from my Tasker app on my phone and import them into V.C.  For example, I have some XML files that give the weather upon completion of the alarm going off.

Do you guys think this would work?  This is not something that would be very useful for me but serves as an example for when I do get some XML files from Tasker that may prove to be more practical.

I used the repository correctly but it appears as if script is broken.  It does not allow me to update nor configure.  How do I fix this? Thanks.

"Open air" and "whole home" microphones / Kinect As Microphone
« on: July 07, 2014, 07:29:57 AM »
There is a guy who specializes in home automation using a M.S. Kinect.  His software is called CastleOS.  This is not a promotion of CastleOS no.  This is a visual on how using a Kinect for speech recognition can improve by using the Kinect as a microphone.  In this particular video, he is able to give commands from 25 feet away!  Using this with V.C. would ensure that you do not need a bluetooth, not a cheap microphone.  The Kinect has a microphone array of 4 built-in mics so it is excellent for speech recognition!  The great thing is, now that the Xbox 360 has been surpassed by the Xbox One, the old first generation Kinects are dirt cheap!

Here is the video I speak of.

Here is a diagram of the Kinect and the microphone array inside.

Integration Ideas / Integration With IFTTT
« on: July 07, 2014, 07:21:26 AM »
I use IFTTT for much of my home automation simply because it is easy to use.  Granted it may be a long while for an official VoxCommando IFTTT integration but that does not mean the service cannot be used.  For example, I have it where if I send an email with a specific tag in the subject line, it will turn on or off devices in my home.

Example:
If I send an email to trigger@ifttt.com with a tag in the subject #LampOn, it will turn on the lamp.  Same with the kitchen, hallway, and a few other devices in my home.  The variable is the subject tag.  (NOTE: IFTTT has it setup where only the email address associated with your IFTTT account can trigger the devices.  They make it that way so 3rd party users cannot manipulate your devices)

So if I setup my personal email and set it up to where V.C. will send the email with the specific trigger, it can toggle device such as the lamp or kitchen lights etc.

I have multiple uses for this.  Do any of you?

Other Plugins / X10 Plugin
« on: July 07, 2014, 07:14:39 AM »
I dont really use X10 anymore.  However I have a bunch of X10 equipment lying around unused.  I was wondering if anyone had any success using the X10 plugin?  I would try, however I do not know how to use the plugin and get my X10 device detected by the program.

General Discussion / New Here
« on: July 07, 2014, 06:39:00 AM »
Hey everyone, my name is Dominique Garcia.  I am an internationally known radio personality and journalist.  I came across VoxCommando when I was looking for a way to integrate my artificial intelligent virtual assistant Denise with XBMC.  As much as I wanted my program to perform everything, I simply acknowledged that V.C. is much more simple.  I could have accomplished it, yet like I said, V.C. is much easier to work with.

I am a forum moderator for the A.I. software I speak of, out of respect for this forum I will not post a link.  However I have made enormous contributions on the program and getting the program to perform all kinds of task that the creator never even dreamed of.  Every time I do something innovative with it, I always make YouTube tutorials to show the other forum members.  If you want to see a few, you can see them here....

Well it seems as if I am now apart of this community despite owning the full version of the program as of this moment.  If and when I get the software, i will make some videos.
