General Discussion / Password for proceeding with command

Guys,

does anyone know how I can put a passphrase for a certain command.

Example.

I tell VC "unlock front door please" , VC responds with "Sure, Please tell me the passphrase in order to proceed." you tell VC the passphrase and it will continue the command. similar to the must confirm option but this will only require one word to accept.

hope this is clear enough.
any ideas?

need help using regex for the highlighted output in attachment after a scrape command. I would like vox to scrape a localhost site and then TTs the temperature that is showing on the site. see attached.

Feature Requests / Ecobee3 - Plugin _ control temperature, settings etc

cool addition to VC would be the ability to control ecobee 3 thermostats. Ecobee3 thermostat uses sensors to detect occupancy in different rooms which maybe VC can leverage as detection and execute commands. see link http://shop.ecobee.com/products/ecobee-3


i checked out there developer site and they are using JSON for their thermostats and also provide API's for developers. see link https://www.ecobee.com/home/developer/api/documentation/v1/index.shtml


I am trying to understand how to send an http get command to detect my temperature and VC tell me, but i am really not that good at figuring this kind of things out. Ill keep cracking away at it but hopefully someone can check this out and see if it could bring some excitement to ecobee users.

Feature Requests / Sonos Hifi integration with VC

Have VC hook into sonos to send music to another room.

Example

"Play radio in living room"
VC responds "sending audio to living room"

Or

"Play radio in living room and kitchen"

"Play radio to all speakers"


Sonos has an app that allows you to play music to different speakers in the house. Maybe VC can execute those commands to get this to work.


Any thoughts?

XML Exchange / Lookup NBA schedule and perform the following actions

Not sure if someone did this already,but a good idea for sports fanatics.

Have VC navigate to the following URL:

http://www.nba.com/schedules/national_tv_schedule/

and scrape the source for date, time, teams playing and what channel.

For example

Ask VC "Are there any NBA games playing today?"
VC responds "checking...."
VC brings the following info "yes, Miami @ Chicago, 8:00pm on channel ESPN ....Would you like to set a reminder?"
I respond "yes"
VC responds "setting reminder"

Or

You can say "Is Chicago playing today ?"
Then it can search for Chicago for today's date.

VoxCommando Basics and Core Features / creating a command for using internet radio

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie here and would like some help trying to create a VC Internet Radio cmd

so i would like to ask voxcommando "Listen to Radio"

VC responds "which radio station would you like to listen to?" (would like VC to wait until hears my response)

VC would have a list of all the radio stations that I have predefined with corresponding url's. EX, z100, power 105.1 etc

I can also say "what are my options?" and VC will tell me all radio stations i have predefined.

I also have URL's to the the radio stations I like, but it requires a click on play button to start live radio. How do i get VC to execute the play button? URL- http://www.iheart.com/live/z100-1469/

once radio starts I would like VC to say "You are now listening to (StationName)"

the end.

any help on this i would appreciate it.. thanks guys

Maybe VoxCommando can integrate with Revolv smart home automation. This hub has support for around 7 different radios. This will allow control for a wide variety of devices through VC. There support seems very active and motivated.
