VoxCommando Basics and Core Features / Trouble viewing incoming TCP info in VC
« Last post by monkee on September 29, 2023, 10:13:06 PM »
Hi, I'm having trouble getting VC to recognize the response from my receiver using the TCP plugin.  I can successfully send it "(VOL U)" command and the volume goes up.  Then my receiver spits out the current volume, I can see the info in Wireshark, but I cannot see it in VC and my lastresult stays empty.  What can I try?  I'd like to use any incoming volume changes to trigger events.

Thanks so much!

It might be a bit clunky, but you could always make a backup of the clipboard contents first and then restore them after you paste.

It might turn into a mess, or you never know, it might just work perfectly.

Ok.

If I go via the clipboard I loose what's in the clipboard every time I dictate.

And I often use the clipboard and dictation at the same time like when editing/creating a document;

Dictating - cut or copy - dictating more - paste...

I don't know if it's possible to do this with the keyboard emulation I am using in VC.

Why don't you try to use SetClipboardText and paste using keyboard emulation of Ctrl-V

thanks for the reply

I installed VC in a new folder and got these popups

Quote
VoxCommando Installer/Updater (Version 2.303)

You don't have the 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable' library installed and
its necessary to run this program.

do you want to download it?

VoxCommando Installer/Updater (version 2.303)

could not download Visual Studio 2010 Redist: none of the mirrors appear to be functional

this pc started with windows 11, so no rolling back for me

as stated in the first post I've downloaded and install Microsoft visual c++ 2010 Redistributable, but apparently it didnt take.

I also have a laptop running windows 11 but It started as windows 10 and I selected to update to windows 11 on first boot, and vc runs fine

do you think it would make a differance if I run "vcredist_x64.exe" as administrator, to install it?

thanks

Hopefully that will work. I have used VC on Windows 11, but it was a machine that had Windows 10 with VC on it that I upgraded to Windows 11.

That machine after the upgrade to 11 was horrible, and VC was a bit unstable on it. I eventually sucked it up and reinstalled windows 10 on it again from scratch, and I'm super happy that I did. Everything runs great again.

It's a dependency.

Just install VoxCommando once (to any folder) with the installer and it should automatically install it for you.

You can delete the installation folder afterwards if you want.

I'm working on setting up a new HTPC (windows 11), I coppied my VC build from my current HTPC (Windows 10) and Im getting a Microsoft.NET Framework work error, but I'm not sure what is causing it

Error:
Quote
Microsoft.NET Framework

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. if you click
Continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. if
you click Quit, the application will close immediately

BadDeviceid calling waveOutOpen

Details: https://pastebin.com/HPVGbSip

I had to install Microsoft visual c++ 2010 Redistributable > https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999
(Visual Studio 2010 (VC++ 10.0) SP1 (no longer supported))

The error never pops up when I'm at the pc, so I havent been able to find whats causing it.

I will post the log when I see a response, I know you guys are busy and I dont want my log sitting out in the open for any longer than needed

Thanks

Hi!

I'm trying to use google speech to dictate in swedish but Inputkeys textentry doesn't output swedish characters correctly.

How do I get Inputkeys textentry to put out swedish characters correctly?

The swedish characters shows up correctly in command history window after InputKeys.TextEntry:

But get exchanged for questions marks when output in Notepad:

l?sa p? ?ken

When using System.SetClipboardText the swedish characters shows correctly when pasted from clipboard.

Could it be fixed by somehow changing the characterset encoding or how can I get the swedish characters to be typed out correctly?

Grateful for help.
