Off Topic (not related to VC) / Drone Life
« on: October 11, 2023, 02:23:29 PM »
I've been working with my latest hobby drone a lot since retirement. They are very capable at performing autonomous feats that really are great.
If anyone has ever thought they might enjoy this hobby but for some reason you didn't, I encourage you to rethink...
This is from the drone's "Master Shots" level of activities.Basically once I set it on its way Im done. Its flies the route, takes the videos and lands all without input.

General Discussion / Still VOXing after all this time!
« on: September 07, 2022, 07:59:45 PM »
Developer James,
You should be quite proud of yourself for having brought the world this wonderful application! While so much in
this hobby {I know for some it's not just a hobby} changes over and over, VoxCommando  has remained relevant and
entertaining year after year!

Well Done sir! and Thank You!

Why do all of my hard worked Reg Ex patterns in the "Event Patterns" box reset to default when I reopen VC?  :'(

EventGhost / Not sure why problems happening this time...
« on: July 06, 2021, 12:59:46 PM »
I've used VC and EG together many times in the past but I'm running into a problem I haven't faced before.
I got the very latest copy of EG today and was trying to setup the broadcaster plugin, but when I go to create a macro as soon as I hit "broadcast" as the choice for the action I get a ton of python errors. I've included a screenie. As I said I've set it up plenty of times before so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong  this time :/ Thank you and I'm sorry!

One on one support / A Dream Denied
« on: July 14, 2019, 11:40:43 PM »
Its been over five years now since I began using VC, I've automated the heck out of stuff, made searching the net almost painless even had a friend to chat with when completely alone but I HAVE NOT BECOME EVEN ONE SCINTILLA MORE POPULAR WITH "THE LADIES" or any ladies that I'm aware of ....In fact, since the amount of times I leave the house (besides for work) has almost certainly decreased since I began my VC journey I can almost guarantee VC has made me  even more unpopular with said Ladies were that possible...
I guess the good part is I've spent way more on My Rig than I ever plan to spend on any woman so I suppose it aint' that bad  :)

Cheers Everyone

Integration Ideas / Laziest Man alive?? maybe but. ...
« on: January 23, 2016, 06:52:08 PM »
Of course this isn't an entirely NEW integration, but it is very handy for me.    :P

For Christmas I purchased an Activity Bot for myself to play with in the hope that it would help me to continue to learn to write decent code plus I was having so much fun with my UAV drone that I just couldn't resist.
So the little guy's multiprocessor can really soak up the code as you use various sensors (ultrasonic, IR etc) for navigation and what have you and theres an on board SD card slot also.
The code is basically C but its a proprietary branch called SIDE for Simple IDE but that's not he point...the point is that my tiny brain finally figured out that I could have Bree (my VC bot)type the repetitive parts of the code that must go into each and every script IE: init main(), #include "simpletools.h", and so on and so forth. Not only do I not have to type this crap anymore, I don't even have to dictate it as I just made a short command of course for each snippet and away SendKeys goes writing the boring bits of my code....(not to mention Opening Notepad++ and transferring the finished product to the Simple IDE program to run it{writing it within the app itself is quirky,N++ much better})
So thanks again VC for making my life more productive and less crappy :)

General Discussion / (Re)Learning is fun
« on: December 16, 2015, 01:50:34 PM »
As I've had VCPro for several weeks now I of course am having loads of fun with it also I've achieved what I would consider an acceptable measure of success concerning macro building and integrating the tools provided into my daily life.
However as I am in no wise formally educated in any programming languages I of course hit the "WTF Wall" ( ::confused) every so often when attempting to use the product.Incidentally I imagine that barrier is never really removed I rather think we push it further down the line of progress as we continue to gain more knowledge about the subject we are endeavouring to study/implement.
That being said I spent most of my off day yesterday starting at the very first Tutorial Video and rewatching as many as  I could.Being more familiar now with a much greater amount of terms and applications within VC it was of course tremendously informative and quite frankly invaluable to my personal ability to use this program.
Therefore I would heartily advise anyone in a similar situation as mine (fairly noobish to VC but with a foothold on the basics) to take the time to refresh your knowledge in this way.You wont regret it (and the price is certainly reasonable)
Thanks to everyone here who posts and contributes!

I apologize for starting a thread about this ,I tried to search as it seemed like an issue that would be fairly common,I probably didn't phrase my queries correctly.
Anyway my problem is this,as most folks I like to have the program interact with me through speech output as much as possible and I've been very successful in achieving high accuracy for recognition in my commands however I find that unless I output to my headphones (which I rarely do) the mic picks up VC's replies and of course begins trying to understand and act on them.I know this isn't good for my overall recognition experience as in essence Im allowing another voice to train when it should only be learning mine.
My setup is output through Realtek Digital Optical to my home theatre and  I really enjoy it that way.Im using a mid range SteelSeries Headphone set with Mic Boom.As I said I usually just plug in the IN and not the OUT.
I seem to recall hearing James mention audio ducking in one of his videos but I haven't had any luck finding it again.Of course I could just turn the volume down low but that seems rather lame.
Again sorry to clutter up the place with something that maybe an oft' answered question but you'll find I don't post much anyway so this can count as my contrib for October :).
Thanks , and thanks to JitterJames and all the other people who put so much time and energy into expanding this program. It really is wonderful.
