Bug Reports / Can't get info on music playing..
« on: May 01, 2015, 10:17:39 PM »
Hi

For some reason requesting song information (e.g. "who sings this song?", "what song is this?" etc) in MediaMonkey isn't working. If I click the Execute(Run) button the commands work fine but when I try using voice commands they are not being picked up. The group has a red circle beside it on the VC Groups Tab and I get a "we don't have access to the grammar for this group"  message if I click on it (the group is enabled).

Let me know if I need to post some logs etc (VC Version 2.1.4.5)

Cheers

David

EventGhost / Re: Problem passing event from EG to VC

Hi Guys

Thanks for the quick replies. I've only just had a chance to take a look and as suspected it was something basic - I hadn't selected "Show All Events"

Cheers!

EventGhost / Problem passing event from EG to VC (SOLVED)
« on: November 06, 2014, 04:12:00 AM »
Hi All

VC: 2.1.0.3
EG: 0.4.1.r1669

This has got me stumped. I want to pass an event from EG to VC and already have several Macros that use Broadcast Actions that I've been using for ages without any problem but even if I copy an existing (working) action and change the payload I get the "Wifi" looking symbol shown in the attached pic, not the "event" symbol. I have tried the sample Macro listed here http://voxcommando.com/forum/index.php?topic=1379.msg11855#msg11855 but I get the same result.

I'm sure it must be something basic but any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

David

Hi James

Thanks for the informative reply. I have installed VC 1.9.5.0, purged, restarted, set the display language to a blank entry (after I came across the same bug you mentioned) and am happy to say that recognition levels are what I have come to expect from VC :)

Re:MM firing up - Thanks for the offer to take a look at my system but I have found the culprit! If MediaMonkey Remote Server (required to run MediaMonkey Remote on Android) is running when VC loads for some reason it launches MM (even though I have it set to "do nothing" if MM isn't running), it only happens when the MM plugin is enabled in VC though so something is going on there...

I also noticed that I had a mistake in my Actions Tree - I had "Who sings this song" triggering get "Artist" plus get "Album" info (which explains why I wasn't getting a reply sometimes!)

The VBS files you asked about are mostly defunct now, I've only left them there in case I want to refer to them in the future.

I'm off to tidy up my song titles now...

...Other than that, I think you are having a special experience...
..it wouldn't be the first time!  :biglaugh

I took a look and couldn't find a "launch" action  :( I thought I might have created one and then forgotten about it.  I have ruled out  EventGhost because MM launches even if EG isn't running. Backup file is attached - feel free to point out any errors you find in my actions  ;D

I'll try another upgrade tonight and purge/restart etc and let you know what happens.

Cheers

I have never had MediaMonkey start by itself on any computer or with any version of VoxCommando, ever, unless I use a launch action...

That could be it! I'll fire up the HTPC and have a look....

Version 2 updates / Bleazle's issues
« on: May 20, 2014, 05:50:50 PM »
Hi James

I was keen to take V 1.9.5.0 for a test run but couldn't use it due to VC miss-understanding almost everything I said once I upgraded. I have had the same thing happen a few times before when upgrading, even with version 1, which results in me having to revert back to the working version (which is what I've had to do in this case too). I upgraded as per your video link, including deleting the dll files (even though I was already using the previous Alpha release). Any ideas why this happens?

Also, when VC fires up MediaMonkey starts automatically (incl. with V 1.9.5.0) is there any way that I can stop this happening? I have come up with a workaround but ideally I would like to be able to run VC without MM having to be running too.

Cheers

Feature Requests / Re: Android VoxWav
« on: May 10, 2014, 06:21:23 PM »
I have access to all menus too, my point is that the menu "button" is no longer a hard coded button beside the "Home" button on the S5 so in the case of VW it has been moved to the top right of the screen. As a result there is no way of seeing if VoxWav is connected to VC in portrait view. I can't think of any other way to say that so hopefully the screenshots explain what I mean.

Re: Thumb thing - I hear what you're saying about not being able to move the button, but "MADNESS"? - I'm guessing my hands have had a harder life than yours; too many broken bones and dislocations as a result of crashes from dirt bikes, kite boarding accidents, Karate injuries, more motorbike crashes, etc etc - put it this way when I went through L.A. airport last year and a Customs officer told me to scan my finger prints I showed him my hand and he said "OK, just try"  ::) Ironically I was on the way to Romania to compete in the Red Bull Romaniacs, but that's another story ;D ...  I used to use "tilt" function and it worked well but in the Alpha releases it seems as though "tilt' is still active even when VW isn't in focus (maybe it is something to do with the S5?). I use MediaMonkey Remote as well as VC and I was having problems with the audio being muted (due to the ducking script in VC) when I changed the volume using MMR. I would move the volume slider on MMR but the volume would revert back to what it was set to before I changed it so I assume the SoftUnmute of the ducking script was coming into play there. NOTE: I don't have VW set to "keep alive".  I haven't tested this in the latest version of VC and can't do this at the moment but let me know if there's anything you want me to try... Just thinking, I'll test this on my S2 (VWPro with VC Alpha) when I get a chance and let you know the results.

Cheers.

I wasn't too sure where to post this, hopefully this thread is OK...

Not sure if you already know this but due to the "menu" list having been moved to the top right on the Samsung S5 now there is no room for any connection information after the Aerial icon in portrait view. Also I would love it if there were options in the setup menu to set the position of the Hold/Speak button (or select from say 3 preset options) - personally around the middle of the screen would work better for me - my thumb doesn't sit at the bottom of the screen when I hold the phone... it's the little things  ;D ;D

Hi James

I was having some anomalies with the previous alpha release so hopefully this one sorts them out - I would have posted some info on what was happening but I haven't had time to be able to work out how to recreate what was going on consistently.

I have only just installed 1.9.3.3 but I notice that when I restart it it kills and re-launches MediaMonkey at the same time - is this supposed to happen?

On another note a VPN application I recently installed (Hotspot Shield) "killed" the interaction between VoxWav & VC after 1 or 2 commands were given if it was running - disabling it sorted that problem but it does mean that if I need the VPN running I can't use VC  :(  NOTE: I am trialling another VPN (Private Internet Access) which doesn't seem to effect VC. I will post here if any issues arise.

Cheers

Hi James

This solution works great here, thanks  :) Bob won't be saying "top of the morning" to me though lol - I take it you've got a bit of Irish blood??  ;D

After my last few attempts (and hours spent) trying to nut things out myself only to have you guys come up with a more eloquent solution to do what I have done I think I'll have to switch to just asking how to do "such and such::hmm

Thanks again!

Hi James

Sorry for not replying sooner - for some reason I haven't been getting notifications of replies to this forum and I've only just realised that you had replied (I'm off to reply to another thread I had missed shortly..)

To answer your questions..
1 - If it were me I would probably set mediaMonkey to use the default output and then simply change the default output in order change where the music was sent.  Was this not an option for you for some reason?

I have MediaPortal set to play using the Default Output. I want the option of having music being played outside (via MediaMonkey) while MP could be being used to play music/watch TV/watch a movie etc inside, hence the need to use the alternative Audio Out.

2 - Did you ever try to change the MM audio output using keyboard emulation?

..not until I saw your post above  ;D

I'm using MM 4.1.1.17. You listed the part of the ini file which changes the Audio Out:

OutputPlugin=out_MMDS.dll

...but never mind that, I'm using your keyboard emulation method now. ;D Unfortunately I have to get VC to stop playback otherwise the music won't switch from playing inside to outside even though MM shows that the Audi Output has been changed. That's not a big deal though and I much prefer this option - now I need to go and updated my post on the EventGhost forum to point to this one!

Thanks for the solution  :)

Works here too  ::banana  ;D and now you've found a way to "future proof" RoboBrowser - I'm having a beer to celebrate for you  ;D

EDIT: I spoke too soon, I couldn't get the Spotify website to open, same error as before. No problem though, I downloaded the application and am controlling it with VC & Eventghost - I can't get over the "power" that the combination of these 2 apps gives me  ;D

lol - like I said I'm not too worried but if you manage to tweak something to get it working with ww.iheart.com let me know, I'm keen to have a play with it - might not be a good idea for you though because I'll probably just end up coming back with a heap of questions!  ;D

Hi James

I'm using VC 1.9.2.2 and have just tried getting RoboB to load www.iheart.com but I got this message: http://www.iheart.com/help/not-supported/

I'm not too worried but I thought you might want to know.

Cheers
