get it while it's hot...

It's close enough.  I've decided to put it on the downloads page now so that new users will be up to date.

Here it is.  There is a lot of sample stuff in here.

Please extract this to a clean directory and test it before trying to modify or replace the xml files...

fingers crossed!

Great.  Thanks for letting me know.  I am eager to put this on the download page and I wanted to make sure the language problem was solved!

easily fixed.  edit the tree.  If you are not using XBMC then you can just delete the entire group.

You should also delete anything else you are not using, such as WMC.

If you want to use XBMC , edit the tree open the XBMC group, open "actions from payload" and then change the path of the payload to "payloads\XBMC.xml" (in other words make the path relative)

or you can right-click the payload and choose XML > Load ...
and then locate the file.

Hi JJ,

I tried a little bit ...

Copied my old voicecommands.xml, after restart everything works fine.

Enabling/Disabling a group works too.
But you can't see anywhere that a group is disabled, right?

How about to do that with a red / green folder icon in the tab "groups"?

And how about a button for clearing the history?

And does it make sense to integrate TelVoxCommando into the VC main window as an additional tab?

How about an additional security check (question yes/no) for major commands (like disabling VC or so)?

Is it perhaps possible that the window position and size (for VC and TreeEditor) can be saved?

More is not occurred to me now, but I collect more ideas, if I may ...  ::)

Siutsch.

That's right, that is why they are green!  I have my red icon all set to go, I just need to find the time to write some code.  You will be able to toggle them on/off by clicking them as well.

A button to clear the history is a good idea, but it automatically keeps only the last 20 (or 30?) commands and then starts deleting the older ones.  But clear could still be useful.  And its EASY, which I like.

I like TellVox to be separate for a few reasons.  One is that you can leave it open while you do restarts etc. and the other is that you can run it from another machine if you want for some reason, so for example you could use it to run vox on and off.  It still needs to be developped a bit.  You can also use EG to send emulation text the way tellvox does.

the yes no verification will be done.  That is what the "confirm" button is for.  I just have so many things to do and a lot of "real" work as well !  Part of the reason the yes no is taking  a while is that I also want to allow some kind of menu choices (bascally the same thing but with more than two options) and I want to be able to make it customizable to work in different languages etc. so I'm just trying to figure out the best way and I think it will be a lot of work...

size and position is a good idea.  I'll put it on the list.

priority #1 groups on/off
priority #2 xbmc data to xml files
priority #3 xbmc movies

What? 0.795 ?!

Use at your own risk  :D

I think I've got the groups on / off thing working.

-  The groups in the main window can be toggled on and off by clicking or by voice commands.
-  The state of the groups in the Tree editor window determine the default state that groups have when VoxCommando starts.

note that all groups are "loaded" at startup, and then either "enabled" or "disabled", so they will still affect startup time, but then when you switch them to "enabled" it should be instant.

And remember, the stuff you do in the editor window doesn't affect the main window until you "restart".

as usual use this at your own risk (back up your old one).

This one should let you select a TTS voice (if you have others installed) other than Anna, in the options.

The built-in Artist and Album for XBMC (selected in the options) should scan and load faster now.

Hi everyone.

I am trying to force myself to work hard on my real life projects (i.e. paid jobs and other household duties) so you won't be seeing too much of me for a while.  Never fear, development will continue after I catch up a bit!

I am still here to answer questions, and feel free to keep posting suggestions, bugs reports etc.

Ok, ok,

I'm bad.  I couldn't help myself.  There's some pretty good stuff in here, if it works.
  • You can drag xml files on to the command editor to import them (no export function yet)
  • I've added songs to the GEN XML for XBMC
  • I've improved the code a bit for loading payloadXML files
  • I've added an option to ignore the value column in payloadXML files and only use the phrase (much faster)
  • I might have done other stuff too.  I can't remember now...

OK, back to work!

Thanks James, congratulations on the progress made, and the effort involved, I'm sure you will succeed in reconciling the development of vox with his real life, and pay your bills ...
I did a little testing, I have a question, what does the color change from green to pink at the interface of the program? as I call the music on XBMC, different artist and albums, I could not run, changes color from green to pink and nothing happens, any suggestions thanks

pink means one of the actions generated an error.

It's not clear to me exactly what is not working for you.  There are different ways of calling artists and albums.  You could be using the commands form the options menu, or you could be using your own commands with GENxml.

It never works?  Or only with certain artists / albums?

are you able to send other xbmc commands?  It would go pink if it could not connect to xbmc for some reason.

does this only happen with 0.796 ?

James, I have successfully created the XML files to album, artist, songs and movies, in the wake created commands for each file using payload from xml, so far okay ... in options tab xbmc, I doubt if I leave the oções active or not.
I tested disabling the two options tab XBMC, well, I can call for artist and album, okay, based on the actions planned to read the XML files. But when I call Song + phrase that triggers the action, also using payload from xml file, immediately rose to the interface changes, pointing error ... and nothing happens ... even all the songs being listed.
Yes I can run other commands with success in XBMC using VOX. the problem is only in the execution of the command to call for song.

please repost your message in Portuguese.  I am having trouble understanding.

Can you please attach your voicecommands.xml file... or better yet zip up your whole VC folder.

Just a quick notice to those of you who are curious to see the next release...

I am working on 0.8, but I've realized that there is a major change that I am going to have to do eventually.  Rather than wait until the situation gets worse, I have decided to dig in and get my hands dirty.  This probably won't look like much of a change but I am having to rewrite alot of code, and add a bunch of "backwards compatibility" code as well.

Basically, I am changing the way the command builder works.  There used to be a drop-down list with actions like "WMC" "VoxCommando" "Launch" etc. on it.

Now, because I am adding new functions all the time, I have decided that this won't work anymore.  So the new method will be like this:

- instead of a dropdown, you can enter text for the command.  or you can click a "magic wand" icon.  When you do that it opens a tree with groups and subitems.

A picture is worth a 1000 words so see the attached image to get an idea.

This will make it easier to deal with more programs, and it will be easier for you to create new actions, because you won't have to remember as much about how to build commands.

When you open the command editor it should update your code.  So for example if you have a command like:

VoxCommando        ---      EnableGroup:XBMC

it should convert it automatically to

VC.EnableGroup      ---       XBMC

Also, it won't exist right away, but I am hoping to add autocomplete for those of you who want to type your commands, rather than using the tree to select them.
Also, the tree is generated from an xml file, so advanced users will be able to edit that file in order to remove actions for programs that they know they will never want to use.

I hope these new features will be worth the wait!
