Feature Requests / Re: Android Mic that works like a normal mic
« on: April 11, 2013, 02:54:25 PM »
The page is really cool , but it's a expensive solution.

I've been thinking in different options cheap options, I one may be interesting, if James make that voice commando listen to different input on the same time  , put some cheap usb wireless mic (like the playstation one , connected to the pc , so this way would really really inexpensive solutions.

But I don't know if it's easy to make voice commando listening to diffent inputs.

Anyway for me the always versiĆ³n of android would be the best option of all , cause just with my control phone I would have a voice control input in every room where now I have a remote .

What I've in mind it's the next.

I've a automation script in evenghost that turn my system peripherical (Amplifier, Tv projector, ambient ligth etcetera ) automatically every nigth at 12 o'clock , just in case I forgot to turn it out, the computer evenghost does it   for me , but sometimes I'm stilll doing things with the computer so It's annoying I  would like that voxcommando behaves likes this :

I trigger an event with evenghost at 12 o'clock to voice commando , I want that vox commando says (in the screen and/or TTS) "Computer is gonna turn the system off in 60 seconds, say cancel (or another thing) to abort", if I don't say nothing after that 60 second I want to trigger a evenghost event (the one who closes the system) and if I say cancel just do nothing.

Is possible to implement this in some way?

Oh thank you for your ideas, you showed me some interesting hardware I didn't know that it exist , zotac is cool :) :) :)

But if you are working in a always on version I think that using my integrated control mobile will be enough, cause they are installed and cool installed , so if they could also make voice control is perfect, if not the mixer option is also interesiting ,perhaps i could find some second hand cheap option (even a inalhambric one)

James, yes I have this control phones always plugged , so the battery drain it's not a problem, about the other software , yes I've take a look to them, and they work , but the problem is what you said VC only admits one normal mic, so it's not a valid solution ,with your vox application this doesn't happen you could have many , so it's a pity that it couldn't work like a always on  mic solution.

Kalle , about your wearable microphone options ,really I don't want to wear anything with me , this configuration for me lost all the magic of voice control , for me the interesting point is the voice solutions is control the equipment without wearing anything , but thank your for the information.

I will think on the idea of putting some wired mics and joint them in the conexion to the pc with a mixer, but with some rooms it's really hard to do.

Thank for your answers, and for you software and technology , it makes me have something interisting to do during weekends.

Feature Requests / Android Mic that works like a normal mic

After some work and  your help finally my voice control works charming in the dinning room , now I'm thinking on the idea to extent it to another rooms , I've some old phone aroung home with media remotes software  , so this way I could turn on and off my dinning room itunes who is connected to speakears on alll the rooms. Now my idea is to extend voice control this way I could star/stop music playing in the room or in the bathroom, the idea is to use the phone like mic , I tried your app and it works cool but the problem is that I want to have hand free system , like in the dinning room , is any posibility that the tcp/mic works like a normal mic , always opened without  need to tilt the phone to start/end the recording.?

Thank you!

:) I think that is useful if I'm playing music with the screen off :) , and for my next step (put a microphone input on the bathroom to control the sound system while showing will be really good to know if the voice controls is started

Another thing , i tried to find the names of the events that are generated when a confirmation is asked or when a order is accepted , but I couldn't find it , is a list anywhere?

Thank you.

James, Kalle , thank you for your answers.

1- About confirmation mode :

I use it but sometimes when viewing a film , I've false positives (and if I put confidence mode higher when I say commandos It don't get it ) so to avoid that when I'm viewing a film have false positives , what I do is disable all the comandos except "pause video" , this way when I want to rewind or something first I said computer (my prefix) pause video , then when paused I active the rest of the command and so I can say rewind (or what I want) without problem) but sometimes I've false positives  (no many but some) ,to  avoid that the video stops what I do is ask for confirmation but the osd text bother in the middle of the screen ,  so if I could put a small small osd on the left corner (or turn on a led), then in case of false positive it will no disturb me , I just ask I don't confirm and after a time it'd dissapear.

2- About the led :

There is a cheap cheap way to do this , just open a old keyboard take the controler board, put some cables on the caps locks , scroll lock leds contacts and then a led on this cables  and then with evenghost , just send turn scroll lock on ,and turn scroll lock off, for executed command I just turn on 20 times caps lock and this look like a blinking led. If you want i could make some pictures of the system.

It also will be cool if a event will be triggered when a commando ask for confirmation ,this way , when voicecommando ask for confirmation I can turn on a little led , indicating that is waiting for a "go ahead". So when the computer screen off I say some command like "start music", i will now that the command is received and I must say go Ahead.

Thank you for everything!

Ooh James sorry I've read your post very fast in the mobile , and I confused Evenghost plugin with Voicecommando plugin , this is the reason I was asking for Evenghost plugin so this was the reason I was asking you for evenghost plugin. I've read it carefully again , downloaded , installed and now works charming :)

Thank you

To avoid that voice command interrups when i m viewing a film, when i start playing a video, i put in standby mode except for one command (alway on) with confirmation , this way work more or less fine, but sometimes for movie film the action is launched and ask for confirmation in the middle of the screen. It will be cool if I could change the message for a little little one on the corner , or just a little bitmap or point on the corner. Or perhaps just avoid that the messages appears.
is this posible ? thank you

hi  James, I've just bougth your software after a few days of testing , first of all thank you for this wonderful software it maked posible to have true voice control to the computer (thing that with Windows speech system and its macros it's not posible.
I've a couple of request/questions.

1- It's possible in any way to detect if Itunes is playing (or started playing/stoped)  , I was this to put my sound equipment on with eventghost , I've google it but I couldn't find anything I can use. I know I could make this with voice comando, but I want something that in case i start it with keyboard it also work (what i need it's event control for evenghots (like the one I have for exemple with VLC)

2- Is any way to know if windows speech recognigtion system is started? I use the combination of the two system your and the integrated with windows , I use your for macros , but windows for general managing and windows dictation , it would be cool the control the event when speech recognition is turned on (with ctrl+winkey or with the menu of the software), do you know how to do?

3- Last question , is any way to detect if some sound is playing on the computer , so this way , for exemple when I start a youtube video i could make that the sound system is deactivated (or restricted to few command) and this way I'd avoid interference.

Thank you!!
