Yeah I am not a fan of KODI's constant upgrade policy especially when old bugs are never fixed and new ones are added in.

Anyway, I had a question about VC. I am trying to make sure my options are setup to not let VC go into standby mode. I believe there is an option on the general tab (the first tab in options) that will keep it from going to standby mode if you set it to '0' which disables it. Does that sound right. I do have a 0 set but it still goes into standby mode sometimes. So i wanted to make sure the options were set right to not let it go to standby mode.

Ok I will start with your instructions as soon as it crashes again. I restarted the computer and it is ok. Before opening Kodi, I restarted VC a couple times to see if it would act up but it worked ok. I will just have to let it crash again and see what is triggering it. Then, I will follow your instructions. Thanks bro.

James,

I'm running 2.2.0.7. Win 7 Kodi 16.0 RC 1

I have been having trouble with the program and have finally decided to look into it. I use my amulet remote to control certain functions in Kodi (volume, tv guide, ok, etc).  It usually works.  Lately, it's been very unreliable. The remote won't work (fully charged) because Vox commando is showing red and not green. For some reason, instead of being in 'On' active listening mode, it will switch itself "off" not listening.

I will restart the program via Full Restart and it will first display 'loading plugins' in the white box and will hang. I can't click on 'On' either because it's still frozen. I can see the little windows blue circle telling me that its loading\thinking. If I control-alt-delete to close the program and restart it, I get the same thing.
The only way I've seen to make it work is restart the computer. It will work for a time being before it starts messing up again. If it's messing up with 'loading plugins' than I don't know why because I haven't messed with the configuration in a while.

Thank fellas. I remembered how to generate these important database xml files but I couldn't remember which directory XMBC/Kodi stored them. I'm and up and running. Do you guys run an open mic system?  I just found out bout the VoxWav for android program and plan to try it out.

Thank again. I'm checking out that other forum to see how I can get Vox to change channels wither by a channel number or channel name. I looked at the tvchannel.xml payload file but it was empty. Time for more research...

EDIT: I decided to just use a payload with the channel id's. Its simple to do except that channel id part. Channel id 5 is PBS while channel id 11 is CBS. On my guide they are right next to each other so I don't get how Kodi labels or identifies each channel.

I added that text to my voicecommands.xml file and when I try to run it, I get a parse error file. I am not a programmer but I know parse errors have something to do with syntax errors. Trying to figure that out.

These are the two parameters

Player.Open

"item" : {"channelid" : {1}}

I'm not sure where the parse error is.

EDIT:  Ok got it to work. Thank you sir. I had to take out the {1} part and replace it with 11.  For me 11 is the Channel ID number  for CBS. In my case I wanted to be able to press a button on the remote and have it change to this particular channel.

I don't have any PVR here to test with so I cannot help you.  Maybe someone else here can.

No they did not.  I have more than one Amulet and even my original one which is very old and has the original firmware on it and they all have good battery life.  What do you mean when you say "it has terrible battery life".  That is a very subjective statement.  It could mean anything to you.

True. I get a little over a week of use before I have to recharge. The biggest problem with it is the button lights that light up when it senses the least vibration.  I wish there was a way to turn that feature off.

As far as the pvr problem goes. Here's where I am at. Even if you dont' have a pvr, I'm sure you have some good ideas on what I could do. In my LCB box I have " GUI.ActivateWindow&&"window": "video", "parameters": [ "pvr://channels/tv/All channels/pvr.nextpvr_7158.pvr" ]"

This will brng me to a window with all of my channels.(see pic) Surely there is a way for Vox to pick one of the channels. I am searching the forums here for an answer. I just need to figure out what to add to my parameters so it will pick one of the channels and not just open up the list.  Any thoughts?

Hey James, Nimestar,

I am trying to use my amulet remote to open and start my pvr client in kodi with the touch of a button. For example, I want to use the "live tv" button on the amulet to do this. I added one of my channels to my favorites so I could see what it looked like. Here it is.

<favourite thumb="C:\Users\TV\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\Thumbnails\Icons\CBS.png" name="CBS">PlayMedia("pvr://channels/tv/All channels/pvr.nextpvr_7158.pvr")</favourite>

I just need your help adding this as a command to the voicecommands.xml file. I was messing around with Json.Raw but didn't know what parameters to use.  Thanks for your time.

Also on an unrelated note, did they ever realease a patch or firmware to make the battery in the amulet remote last longer? It has a terrible battery life.

Interesting.

When you say renaming it, do you mean in the voicecommands GUI.  For example I have named it Record a show.    Should I now name it ++Record a show?

EDIT:  NEvermind. That did the trick. Thanks for you time. As always you rock.

Here's a screenshot of the history with the pause function taken out.  It plays once and doesn't repeat like the other macro does.

Here's a screen shot of my history when I press my desired button to trigger the macro. For some reason it's playing the macro 4 times now... Maybe it always was and I just counted 3.

Also I uploaded my voicecommands.xml

Its amazing how fast you are lol.

OK yes it happens outside of the EPG. I tried it out side of KODI. Doesn't matter.  I am using the newest version of KODI I believe. I downloaded it the other day. PLus I downloaded VoXCommando 2.2.0.7. I hadn't upgraded Vox in a year. I didn't have these issues with my previous version of Vox. 2.0.something.

I'll upload the voicecommand.xml and screenshot of the history log. One sec.

VoxCommando Basics and Core Features / Weird pause repeat issue
« on: December 17, 2015, 11:24:08 AM »
I'm having an issue with using the VC.pause command.  I am making a simple xbmc\kodi command so I can press the record button on my remote which tells xbmc/kodi to start recroding a live tv show or record a show if I'm looking at my EPG. Simple stuff...

Anyway I set up a command, but the VC.pause function is messing it up. I know this because I took the pause command out and it didn't repeat it self 3 times.
Here's what I mean about the repeat part.

My macro is  1) XJson.Btn.KB         X
                    2) VC.Pause                1000
                    3) Send keys               Left    (for move the cursor so it selects yes in the dialogue box.)

So if your're looking at the history page, when I press my record button (to activate this macro) it makes this macro play 3 times.  Without the pause command, looking at the history, it just plays once like it's suppose too.

Anyway ideas?  bug?

VoxCommando Basics and Core Features / Re: Two problems with VC

If you think that VC is responsible for randomly pausing a movie then you need to post a log so we can see what is really happening.  If you are not already using the Amulet USB Monitor to turn VC on and off then I suggest you try that first.  The motion sensor in the Amulet is quite sensitive and in some cases it might turn on when jiggled.  When it turns on it may make a "turning on sound" like a hiss or a pop.  If you have a single syllable command phrase such as "pause" (the default xmbc config may have this) you can also try to change this to something longer to avoid it triggering that phrase when hearing this Amulet sound.  Chose what you are most comfortable remembering and saying but a phrase like "press pause" or "pause playback" etc. will be much less likely to be triggered by accident.

It happened today so here is a picture of the recent history. It happened at 1:30 pm which is highlighted in a red box. It shows a 74% for the pause command. Once again the amulet remote was lying on the table. The remote did not have a red "listening" light one. So heard the "Pause" command according to the green horn icon. For the life of me, I don't understand where it heard it from. Does the amulet remote randomly start listening for anything even with the remote lying flat on the table with no red light? VC is hearing the pause command somewhere.

I read this :If you are not already using the Amulet USB Monitor to turn VC on and off then I suggest you try that first.  I am not sure how to do that, but I am sure it's not that hard. I will look into trying that. Anyway maybe the picture can help.

VoxCommando Basics and Core Features / Two problems with VC
« on: October 15, 2014, 03:30:03 PM »
There have been two issues I have been dealing with in VC for a while now. Just now getting around to looking at it.

1) In XBMC Vox will randomly pause the playback of the song or movie I'm playing. I'm using an amulet remote so I thought it might be it, but I verified many times that the remote was not touched or bumped and had no red light (or any) when the XBMC pauses.  The random pausing sometimes is the only inadvertent commands being sent to from VC.

2) The other huge headache VC gives me is how it won't respond sometimes until I restart it. EXAMPLE: I'll come home after a workout leaving the computer on a few hours. I'll try to use Vox and it won't respond. As soon as I restart it, everything is fine. It just seems to ignore any voice commands I give up (in green listening mode of course). I haven't tried to re-install VC yet.

James I am hoping you have some ideas bud.
