The most recent versions of VoxCommando can be found on the Downloads page at VoxCommando.com.
Download & Run
It is recommended that you create a backup of your VC folder before updating. (Simply create a copy of the folder. You can delete it when you're certain all is well.)
To update VC, download the new version from VoxCommando.com, run the self-extracting exe file in the folder you want to update, and tell your PC to overwrite files when asked.
In other words, to update your existing configuration simply put the installer in your existing VC folder and run it. This will ensure that your configuration remains the same, including your preferences and any of your command customizations.
When asked if you want to clean all the DLL files, we recommend that you say yes to all. This will ensure that all plugins are updated properly. For advanced users only: if you have independently installed special DLLs that are not part of a typical installation, you should uncheck these from the list before running the cleaner.
Change Log
Consult the ChangeLog page to find out what's new in the update. This is a good way to learn about new features and any changes that may affect how you use the program.
Major Upgrades
If you are upgrading from version 1.xxx to version 2.xxx you won't be able to activate unless you have:
- Purchased lifetime upgrades. (These are no longer offered.)
- Purchased a license upgrade.
You can purchase an upgrade for just $10.
Please note: When upgrading a version 1 license, your registration needs to be updated manually behind the scenes (unlike a regular license purchase). We are in the Eastern time zone (GMT-4/5) and are unlikely to process your order during the night, so you may need to wait up to 12 hours in some cases.
