Trouble getting Album xml

Hi,

I'm having a problem with getting the album xml to load properly. When using GenXML > Open Form > Albums it generates an error. I've tried restarting both MM and Vox as well as running both as administrator but the error persists. When I give a command to play by album it always defaults to Beatles for Sale. Any suggestions?

I think you are using the "old" method at the bottom.  Try just doing "generate all" from the new section at the top.  This is the same as doing it directly from the GenXML menu on the main VC page.  I guess I should probably just remove the old method since the new method works fine.  As far as I know...

Tried it with the new method and it appears that it does generate the xml but when I go to play using the command "Play Album" it defaults to one album always.

I was able to figure out the problem. In the tree editor under MM Play Music by Name > Play Album <Album> > the payload was named wrong (lower case). I corrected it to mmAlbums.xml and everything worked.

Interesting, what OS are you using? Filename case should not matter in windows. Possibly changing the case forced it to recognize that the grammar needed to be updated,  but usually a restart is enough, or for me, just updating the XML from the main window will automatically trigger a rebuild of the correct grammar.

Anyway I'm glad you got it working, but I don't think this is a common problem, or it would have been addressed by now.

Btw thanks for taking the time to post that video. I'm rather busy at the moment so I apologize if my responses are not as prompt as usual.

I'm still not quite sure what is going on here.  I will need to do some testing when I get a chance but this certainly is a new one.

Hey no worries, I'm just glad it is finally working. I'm running Windows 7 Professional SP1. When I was looking into the payload folder it had every file in the same format except the lowercase one that was albums. I had updated from a previous version (don't recall the exact version number) and I copied over some files into the new install directory. So that might have been my undoing.
