Title: Not Actually a Mic, but interesting.

Read about this a while ago, good price for those cross atlantic folk. E-mailed Audiovox customer care an age back to find out if it can be used in the UK, but never did hear back.

looks like it would have a pretty limited application.  I mean, it wouldn't be able to do anything more than a normal universal remote could do anyway right?  It certainly wouldn't be able to cooperate with VC because I imagine that it does simple command recognition on a chip and then just sends infrared like a normal remote would.

I doubt the command structure would be very sophisticated either.  It's not like you could ask for a particular band or movie etc...

I didn't look too carefully so I could be wrong...  but I doubt it.

There is another remote on the market though that actually works as a microphone.  I believe it comes with a software designed specifically for controlling WMC.  It looks pretty good, but I don't think it would work with anything else, is not very customizable, and is a bit expensive.  Still the actual hardware might be usable with VC if it just shows up in windows as a sound recording device.  It also has the neat feature of being able to tip it up (microphone on) or tip it down (microphone off).
