Hi all,
I recently purchased the Global Cache WiFi2IR and although it was a pain to set up - windows 10 does not allow Ad Hoc networks and your router has to be 2.4G and 802.11b.. it's now actually connected to my network.
I have downloaded James's group code and changed the IP to the one assigned to my iTach.
I get as far as telling it I want to learn buttons for my TV
followed by learn button Power..
but when I press the power button after VC's response of Press power button... absolutely nothing else happens.
I MUST be doing something wrong, or have missed an obvious step in the set up.
The History after the OSD ShowTextready.press Power is
event iTach
event in group: iTach learn payloadXML
doing IF: (A) contains(B)
VC.StopMacro
and that's it.
Any help would be extremely appreciated
Thanks

Make sure you are holding the remote correctly an inch or two from the hole and perfectly aligned.
Also make sure iLearn is working before you start with VoxCommando. Then make sure iLearn is not running and nothing else is connected to your Itach when trying to learn with VoxCommando.
If it doesn't work please post a log.

Also make sure you have enabled the TCP plugin.

HI James,

I will try that.

Hi James,
Ok, I have got the iLearn to pick up the on button for my TV. Then I saved it and re sent it back to my TV and it worked.
Now.. I had the TCP plugin enabled from the start.. do I have to configure it in any way for the IR stuff to work.
I used it when I was creating a port forward and it made it really easy having the simple web page.. ready to 'have a stab' at the amazon echo dot (That's the next project)...lol

No you only have to set the correct IP address for your iTach in the "TCP connect iTach Client" command and then restart VC.

I think there might be a problem with the TCP plugin, although I'm not sure where the bug came from or when. Please replace the .dll with the attached file.
Follow these steps:
- First completely close VoxCommando.
- Then replace the TCP.dll in your VC\Plugins\TCP folder with the attached file.
- After downloading and replacing the file you will probably need to "unblock" the dll file. Right click the file then click "properties", and then click the "Unblock" button at the bottom right (if there is one).
Upgrade to the latest version of VoxCommando.

Hi James,
Absolutely excellent.. it works fine now.
Thank you so very much. I thought I had done something dumb.
Everyone I show vox commando to.. and how I have been utilising it.. thinks its really great.
Well, that's my evening taken care of.. programming my TV..lol
I have followed the step by step instructions on the amazon echo and can actually see the skill in my skills. Just need to start testing tomorrow.. The Microphone on the alexa is stunning.. I asked what time it was from upstairs.. ok, louder than normal but not shouting.. and it spoke the time. Can't wait to start using it with VC. Echo is ok, but VC is so so programmable.. excellent job
Thanks again my friend for your help today

Glad to help. :)
I only wish I knew how and when the TCP plugin got broken. I hope it was only in a recent update!
