Hi all,
God knows what's happened but all of a sudden I can't use the command "browse TV show Family guy" for example.
The log shows: XJson.Raw:GUI.ActivateWindow&&"window":"video"."paramaters": ["videodb://2/2/38"] and displays no error but Kodi just launches a blank window.
The top right corner of says "Videos - 38". 38 is the reference in the payload for Family guy but here are no shows. I've made sure Show watched is ticked but still nothing.
All other commands are working fine. if I say "Play a random episode of family guy" then it loads just fine.
Any idea what I've done wrong??
Thanks,

Strange indeed.
When you say "for example," you're saying that the browse TV show doesn't work for any TV show that you have, right?
Can you please:
1. post your "Find/Browse TV show {1}" command xml from your configuration, and
2. post the actual log after you've issued this command and also the "play random episode of {1}" command that is working for you?

Thanks for the quick reply as always Nimester! Hope all is well with you guys.
I went to search for an easy way to copy the log file for you and stumbled across the "Build missing grammars" command in the file menu and thought sod it I wonder what that does. Well, it fixed it! Very odd. :biglaugh Never had to use that before so not sure what's caused me to need it now.
Never mind, important thing is I can now move on to setting up the dining room PC ;)

Huzzah. :)
But geez, Mr. Wolf; you don't know where your log file is??
Time for you to explore the extremely comprehensive VC wiki documentation. ;-)
-
Yep. Or just explorer the main VC menu for about 2 seconds.
But read the wiki too.

You must know me by now. I am probably Vox Commando's laziest and stupidest ever user.
I've seen it now. I found a log that was empty earlier but have only just now through forced embarrassment and public shaming managed to find the "Enable log" button ;)
Thanks again.

We are developing a new technique called "learn by shaming". So far our test subjects are responding well. :o

looks like mine stopped working as well, I tried "Build missing grammars" but that didn't work for me I have tried this on two different PC and getting the same results from both
mine is showing as successful but opens a window with just the "previous directory" as an option
both VC are running 2.1.5.1
when I try and run the same command with VC 2.1.4.8 they work perfectly
but my movies command is having the same trouble with my movies on both versions I will start a new thread for that though
here is the command that im using
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>
<!--VoxCommando 2.1.4.8-->
<command id="801" name="Find/Browse TV Show {1}" enabled="true" alwaysOn="False" confirm="False" requiredConfidence="0" loop="False" loopDelay="0" loopMax="0" description="">
<action>
<cmdType>XJson.Raw</cmdType>
<params>
<param>GUI.ActivateWindow</param>
<param>"window": "video", "parameters": [ "videodb://2/2/{1}/" ]</param>
</params>
<cmdRepeat>1</cmdRepeat>
</action>
<phrase>Find, Browse</phrase>
<phrase>Tee Vee, television</phrase>
<phrase optional="true">show, series</phrase>
<payloadFromXML phraseOnly="False" use2partPhrase="False" phraseConnector="by" Phrase2wildcard="anyone" optional="False">XbmcPayloads\xbmcTvShowTitles.xml</payloadFromXML>
</command>
I'm running xbmc 13.2 one is windows 7 the other is windows 8.1, I also attached a log file from one of my VC's running 2.1.5.1

If Kodi is set to hide watched items and you browse to a TV show that does not contain any unwatched episodes that could explain it.
From looking at your logs it seems that the command should be working unless 699 is not the correct ID for the show Dexter in your library.
2.1.5.1 has some problems but I did not think this was one of them.
If you are using xSql to generate your xml, make sure you are pointing to the correct database file for your current Kodi install.

I just tested all the default TV commands with VC 2.1.5.2 (unmodified configuration) on Kodi 14.2 and everything seems to be working normally for me.

::saddest, I just did some digging, and about a month ago I was having some problems and updated to kodi 14.2 for a day or so and I changed all my databases to match up with kodi, but when that didn't solve my problem I did a system restore, but replaced VC with my nightly backup, sorry for wasting your time, I looked at the plugin settings (IP, and passwords) but didn't think about the database numbers
