Title: Harmony hub
Post by: Vin on February 04, 2017, 09:01:35 AM
Im almost complete with hue setup. Next step is controlling the entertainment system.

I could not not find any info on integrating VC to Harmony hub, there was 2 threads that showed up when I did the search.

Can VC integrate directly with Harmony hub or does it require eventghost?

Until very recently Harmony Hub didn't share an API to permit any kind of control. Now it appears there is limited interaction available. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fjPMr0eLJWaFoZw0JMu449dgKFXR0K1m6EoxsDbgt8I/pub

Very experienced VC users who also have some coding experience can probably implement direct control using that documentation, but if there's already a working Eventghost solution that you're aware of, that would be the easiest solution for getting VC to work with your Hub.

You can also use IFTTT. It's easy to send emails from VC to IFTTT, and sending an email to IFTTT works quite quickly and reliably.

If you get anything up and running, it would be great to share your experiences and XML for working commands on the forum. As you say, there's not much on the forum about Harmony Hub.

There is also a command line exe out there as mentioned here: http://voxcommando.com/forum/index.php?topic=2492.msg21678#msg21678

I could probably make a plugin if someone wanted to supply me with a Harmony Hub.
