Hi there,
Has anyone got a better way of doing the following? I want to be alerted when a download has finished so I have it set that the window will close when download is finished, I then use the "unfocused" event to send a msg to Eventghost which sends a Autoremote msg to my phone.
(Hope that made sense) The main issue I have is If I have to have that window in focus a few times it will send the command multiple times. I have had a read of these forums and the Wiki but have not found a solution.
Thanks in advance
Bergasha

Hi bergasha,
did you tried the watcher plugin? Maybe this is the solution for which you looking for.

I don't know how your phone is set up but if you want to simplify things a bit you could have VoxCommando send you an email instead of using EventGhost and autoremote. Also we don't know what you are using to perform your downloads but this might affect your options.

Actually you can send messages directly to AutoRemote from VoxCommando using Scrape as outlined here:

This looks like it could be the winner :) how have I missed this plugin?
One question, It creates an Event named after the file that is moved into this folder, How do I get it to create an Event for all file names?
Thanks heaps both of you,

You can use a wildcard in the event name instead of a specific file name.

And that has done it :) Thanks a lot, Everyone on here is awesome.

I use my setup in a diferent way but the process is the same. You would need to use Eventghost as a "junction".
1. set up AutoRemote to work with Eventghost
2. Setup your event trigger in VC to Broadcast a message to EventGhost.
3. Set up eventghost use the message it receives from VC broadcast to send a message Via Autoremote to your phone

Welcome to the Forum NightWheels915 8),
some how I missed this thread back in February (Busy Remodeling),
if you or some one else is looking for a simple way to have VC notify your phone with a notification, Pushbullet works great, (Pushbullet VC Setup (http://voxcommando.com/forum/index.php?topic=2189.msg18945#msg18945))
but the free version does have a limit of pushes/notifications per month (500) something to keep in mind depending on how many notifications you plan on sending. ::hmm

Also, I know I'm repeating myself but if you want to send notifications from VoxCommando to your phone using Autoremote you don't need to use any other programs like EventGhost.
It is much simpler, faster, and probably more reliable to send messages directly to AutoRemote from VoxCommando using Scrape as outlined here:

If you want to send messages from Autoremote to VoxCommando while you are away from home that is another story. In that case you can use EventGhost, or use one of a few other (non-autoremote) methods to send messages to VC from outside your LAN.
