Title: Error opening group srgs file
Post by: Arrow768 on July 14, 2015, 03:29:04 PM
I am just trying out vox commando but I ran into a issue with mediamonkey.

After Startup I am getting the following errors:

I have notices that the Commands in the Group MM Play Music by Name is not working properly
(Pretty sure that its caused by these errors)

A few infos about my environment:
VC Environment:I am using the default configuration for media monkey (I have only changed the speech recognizer culture to en-gb; But the problem also occurs when the culture is set to en-us)
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit joined into a AD Domain
Install Location and Program Execution: VC is installed on a non-system-drive so there shouldnt be any UAC issues. I tried running it as Administrator, but the error still occured.

I would really appreciate any help with this problem

Hi Arrow768.

Welcome to VoxCommando. Can you please tell us what version you are using. If you are using version 2.1.5.x the problem might be solved by switching to version 2.1.4.8

Thanks for the fast answer.

Now I feel quite stupid for overseeing the warning on the download page.

Using 2.1.4.8 solved the problem

Not at all.  The 2.1.5.1 and 2.1.5.2 betas have been proving unusually problematical since their release but it took a while to notice.  Usually the beta releases are safe but not the last two.

I actually just edited the text on the download page after you reported the problem in the hopes that other new users would not run into the same problem!  :biglaugh

Thanks for reporting back.  I believe the next beta will resolve this issue, but there are going to be a lot of changes in the coming release and probably a few new bugs too...

------
The error repeated. I just ran into this. Version 2.2.4.1. I looked through the forum, did not find anything. ????

Decision:
Create a similar folder and drag the commands one by one to another folder, so you can find error.
When more than half dragged, the error disappeared.

I do not know what is connected, but I think someone will help :)

Sorry, it's translate by google)

You did not tell us exactly what error you got or when it appeared.

It is difficult to know from a screenshot because we can't see how your commands are actually constructed.

It is normal though, if you have too many commands with very large payloads, similar commands, and commands with optional parts, Microsoft speech engine cannot handle having too many of these in the same group and moving some commands into a new group is the correct solution.

If you can send me the XML for the original group (and any payload XML files used) I will take a look and tell you if there is a problem with your commands or if it is some other bug.

You can email me the files directly using my forum username at gmail.com
