Title: Newbie crashes
Post by: trubel on December 03, 2018, 04:37:13 PM
I have downloaded VC into folder c:/VoxCommando/2241, along with extras which I unzipped.  My only plugin is TTS.  I went to create a command "say hello", created the command successfully ( I think), then pushed the play button, and VC crashed?  Restarted VC, my command is gone??

Log attached.

Any ideas?

Sorry to be a pain off the bat.  If I can get the talking head to work, you have a customer!

Thanks

Hi Trubel.

It would probably be much faster for both of us if I help you directly through TeamViewer rather than playing 20 questions.

I could be free tomorrow. Send me a private message if you are interested.

I must warn you though that the talking head animation is not one of VoxCommando's stronger features. It was just something I slapped together for fun and did not fully develop.

Have you installed additional voices? For example from Ivona or a similar provider.
I once had the same problem that VC crashed when the used voice was not unlocked.

Yes I do have a sexy Brit Ivona voice but she is paid for, and works well in other programs.  But she may be misbehaving here, thanks for the heads up.

Ok, what does VC when you try to open the TTSplugin - I guess it will show you a Speechlib.dll error or?

The problem was that a bunch of incompatible stuff like Sapi 4 and Sapi 5.2 engines were installed and incompatible voices for those engines like Mike and Mary.  Just had to uninstall all that stuff that was messing things up.

Thanks for your help, I never could have figured that out by myself.
VC is just what I was looking for.  Activation complete.
