Post by: Kalle on November 23, 2010, 05:52:03 PM

Kalle, look this
http://lonelycoder.com/hts/
and this, in special second topic.
http://bbs.nfvdr.com/viewthread.php?tid=6513

We are finalizing a new version of skin for XBMC - AEON65 MQ2, where many things are improving, especially management of menu items and submenus, so I know TV is yet to come in the next generation of XBMC called Eden, which is being developed now calls Dharma is, and this in RC1 release candidate one.

Hi Kalle,

What software do you use now to watch TV?

I think WMC and MediaPortal both have support for TV and recording TV, but neither of those is very accessible using VoxCommando.  It would be great if XBMC included support for this.

Hi James,
I have to test for WMC with DVB-T, but I really like XBMC (For watch TV with WMC it needs many keySend-commands. XBMC has a nice design, i like it)
I want an external USB HD box to use with a Common Interface (Alphacrypt) for pay TV. Software? I do not know yet which one can take. MythTV or MediaPortal.
If someone is looking even have a good HTPC. ZOTAC-ID34 with Blueray is an excellent choice, extremely small (280mm wide x 187mm deep x height 40 mm) and a beautiful design in aluminum. The ION2 graphics chip runs very fast. HD material without misfire.

PS: Your VC for XBMC is great, many new commands that I still have to test.
XBMC I had used for the first time, as there is still much to learn.

Good Morning Wanilton, I have a question about the Aeon MQ skin.

In my demo showing "Amulet with XBMC", everything works perfectly, but the way in which the fanart changes, kind of bothers me.

If I say "find movie Star Trek"  I see about 1,2, or even 3 fanarts changing in the background before I finally get the star trek fanart.  It is a bit distracting and almost makes it look like VC is not working properly at first.

Is there a setting I can change in the skin to avoid this?

I thought MythBox was just a front end for MthTV, meaning that you need a back end somewhere.  And I didn't realize that the back end could be run on windows.

There is this: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MythTV_on_Windows

I didn't look at it too carefully though... I don't use a TV service of any kind.  I only download.

Good Morning James,

I'll try and see what we can do to fix this, but I understand it is interesting that you download this new version, just overwrite the current one, unzip the contents in the directory below, tested in the new version XBMC RC1, noting that the textures will be redone, so in climate, you will find it difficult to visualize. Skin will come out in full on November 30.
C:\Users\James\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons
There is a delay of 10 seconds to access in the main menu, the shortcuts area, it is now possible to place NEW items on the menu and submenus, and can enable, disable, rename, delete, etc. .. This is due to the size of file that needs to be read, is almost 2 mb and thousands of lines of XML code.
Seems unlikely, but there were many hours to develop an appropriate solution, since in no other skin, there is something so practical and easy as this that we will deliver the community.
The MarcosMQ actually have talent, I and the Guilherme Jardim we help make it happen, but we are 10% in the process, since the Marcos accounts for the remaining 90%.

Kalle,

If it worked in Skin Confluence, will also work on skin AEON.

To insert a new item called TV for example, go to settings, main menu, shortcuts, search for New Item on the toolbar, click this button, you will see four options, the last option is ADD script, there will appear list, go the MythBox, click on it, for order a virtual keyboard will appear, type a word like TV, to enter, ready, it will be available in your menu bar.

I never used TV feature in XBMC, I'm just trying to help, I can not guarantee it will work.

Kalle, look inside the directory skin.AeonMQ-2, you'll find a folder called language, if you have time and can translate the strings for German, send me the translated file that we launched together.
Look attached file is incomplete, you have to take English, copy the file to a directory Germany, and translate each string.
to change the language XBMC - go to settings, appearance, language is the second option

Kalle, the skin is the update automatically, you need not do anything to receive the new files. During the upgrade you should not quit xbmc,
wait until the end, you will receive on-screen visual report when the procedure is finished.

James, performs tests and worked perfect here to search for movies by using the same phrase you used, without those images fanarts appearing before the movie called.

Kallle,

Download this - 247 mb
http://xbmcaeonmq.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xbmcaeonmq/skin/media/textures.xbt

Download and overwrite this file,
C:\Users\Kalle\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\skin.AeonMQ-2\media\textures.xbt

This will fix somethings, like weather, or when you're in the area of films, and press the letter "i" will get the movie data

it may have something to do with the custom fanart that I am using...  I guess I could try turning it off.  But I like having the movie images cycling on the main "home" page when I select movies, tv etc...

or maybe something has changed in the new version of the skin?

or maybe your computer is just faster than my laptop.

thanks, Aeon is perfect. MythTV is not my favorit for watch Live TV, i try WMC for watch TV, but the rest of media is reserved for XBMC with AEON. I take a look in the string.xml and translate what i can.

Hi James,

on my HTPC is also a little bit slowly (Atom Dual Core 2x1.8 Ghz, 2 GB RAM), I test a RAM-Upgrade to 4 GB.
The skin is nearly 1 GB in main memory  :-\ but VC works fine with it.

There's something wrong there, I use XBMC with Aeon skin, and as much memory that the process takes is 140 mb of RAM ..
Kalle, take this opportunity to ask after all the TV works in XBMC, or does not work, or working poor?

my laptop is actually pretty fast, and I find everything to be pretty smooth, it is just that there seem to be too many fanart images changing in the background before I get to my final destination.

If I am in movies and I say "find tv show simpsons", it first changes to a new random movie fanart, then a new random TV fanart, then maybe another, and finally the simpsons fanart.  but it all happens pretty quickly and smoothly.

I think there should be (maybe there is) a setting to say that I want random fan art on the home screen only, and on TV and Movie pages, I only want to see fan art for the active item.

It would also be nice if xbmc knew when it was "travelling" from one place to another, and would pause or hide the fanart slideshow until it gets to where it is going.  I don't know whether this is the responsibility of the core program or the skin, but it would make the skin seem faster and more responsive.

Hi Wanilton,

MythTV plugin works not really, it is to complicated to configure for me. The install process has bugs (want a scipt folder, but that did not exist yet). If I have created this, I could install MythTV. Now I had problems configuring "No access to MySQL database". I have no idea where to find them. All in all, too complicated, but no problem, it was only a test.
I have found another XBMC-TV-plugin, what do you think of this?

http://www.scintilla.utwente.nl/~marcelg/xbmc/

Kalle

sorry  :bonk have not seen that I had run several other programs in the background. XBMC just need 104-140MB + ~ 45MB VC, that's fine.
Title: Re: TV on XBMC
Post by: jitterjames on November 25, 2010, 05:40:55 PM
VoxCommando should need about 30 megs if you have a small grammar.  When you start to add alot of artist, albums songs, movies etc. it will grow to accommodate the language model for all the things you might say.  My XBMC configuration of VC uses about 80 megs.  I can see easily going over 100, but who cares.  100 is not that much really.  A 4 gig system is pretty standard these days.  You might run in to trouble on a atom processor with only 2 gig of ram though... in that case the solution would be to not include song titles, or to edit out all the crappy songs...  ;)

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH,

LiveTV on XBMC run ;D

It was hard work (install/deinstall... and so one)
The solution is: MediaPortal TVserver as backend and a plugin for XBMC as a frontend.

Wanilton, i have tested with "Confluence-Skin", i will test next time with AEON-Skin, i hope it will be run!

Moin Kalle,

Was für Hardware, bzw. welche TV-Karte nutzt Du dafür denn z.Zt.?

Kalle,

Good morning,

Download again,

http://github.com/downloads/Wanilton/VoxCommando/skin.AeonMQ-2.zip

Corrected some important bugs, and implemented to show a fanart of an artist, when you run an album at main page, or you can also choose to rotate images from a directory chosen by you, in a slideshow.

Unzip and overwrite the current files.

Soon you will not need it anymore, because you will receive the update automatically if you've seen skin updated message is fake, we're just testing.

Kalle, I'm glad you had success in implementing TV in XBMC if you have questions on use of XBMC do not hesitate to ask, check the settings in place to see the amount of possible changes in the skin.

Once we finalize the new download let me know, I'll delete again ... here you already have a version of which 99% is being released as official. (DELETED Now),

Hi Wanilton,

i have a qoestion: LiveTV works fine in Confluence-skin, if i change to the old AEON-skin, i can't create "new item" in Main-Menue, the button Main-Menue have no function, and the German string.xml doesn't work (e.g. not all)

To solve this
Pass the interface from German into English, changing the language, then change
go to home menu, styles, shortcuts, click the item that was added with giving problems enter, you will see an option to delete it from barra. After include item again, just did not work for lack of strings in German, I recommend keeping in English per hour, until we have all the strings in their native language.
Notify me saying it could make it work,.

Deleted the file again, so I leave the final launch the permanent archive will be posted here for download

Area has a particularly slow, which is shortcuts, we are working to improve this in private, and we will succeed in part, note that there is a warning message about it.
This skin will be the first to have a complete management of items in the menus and submenus, no one else has something like this.
The previous version to this new version, this area was more developed, the cost of having something very functional, was that the code size greatly increased, they are almost 2 mb in one file, the downside is that loading something so great it leads to slow loading of the instructions, we are sure we will improve it until the release, we have many adjustments that are being made in the coming hours.
What we know is that everything is functional, we are working to reduce delays.
The other areas are unaffected, but that skin is in fact full of resources, and this has a cost, it has been much slower than it is today, just compare with other skins that do not exceed 30 mb.

The skin was tested with the latest version of Dharma, a release candidate 1, and I think we should work with this script

Hi Wanilton,

i have reinstall the rc1-pvr of xmbc, but the Main-Menue button in setting have no function in AEON-Skin, i don't know why. I can't change the Main - Menue settings. Also in the confluence-skin the LiveTV does not work "no PVR-Client found"
If i reinstall the "xbmc-r35068-Dharma_beta4-PVR" the LiveTV work fine, but only in Confluence-Skin. Sorry for this trouble  :bonk
I will tested this on a clear system next time.

Kalle,

Performed testing, I installed the version of XBMC as PVR, the problem is here, this version of XBMC which is on site with this same problem, I suggest you reinstall with the official version..
I did so I installed the first version with the PVR, then run the setup again with the official version of XBMC, done everything working correctly, try, you will see the Main Menu now functions correctly.

official version, download here:

Hi Wanilton,

Hi Kalle,

Still not 100% finalized the management of new items in menu and submenu, but very close as we want it with speed and very functional. Correct many errors, we adjust the details that make better use process.
Only send new files now when we've fixed bugs in other areas.
I estimate one more week to officially launched new version skin in XBMC forum.

Hi Wanilton,

I use Aeon-MQ2 too with XBMC Dharma rc1.

I updated to version 2.1.1 some weeks ago (manually like described on page1 of the MQ2 Thread in xbmc forum).

Will next update (2.5 I think?) fromm v2.1.1 take place automatically?

Or must this be done manually again?

Thankz,
Siutsch.
Title: Re: TV on XBMC

Hello Siutsch,

Manually again, I  estimate one week to officially launched new version skin 2.5 in XBMC forum. We are working on a way to avoid the download has to be a manual to each new version,
but we are having problems with every new version of XBMC changes occur that lead us back to the initial level.
The new version is being tested with RC1 Dharma, then it will work ok for now, until the release of RC2 or the final version of XBMC, which may require further adjustments.

Wait just a little more time, the skin will soon be available in final form for download,

Wanilton

Dharma RC2 is ready, and this one is a Release Candidate in the truest sense. There are a few reasons we decided to do one last pre-release:

Shoutcast support has been redone. Listening to your favorite online radio stations with the shoutcast plugin is now a much nicer experience.
The add-ons moved out of the testing repository and into their permanent home. This means that everyone will need to upgrade in order to see future add-on updates. If you continue to use RC1 or previous, please don’t report a lack of updates.
Automatic updates for add-ons are now enabled by default. Of course, you can still disable them via the add-on manager if you prefer.
It has been far too long already, so the final release of Dharma should be close behind this one. If you have any outstanding issues speak now or forever hold your peace!

download here for windows version:
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/win32/xbmc-r35567-Dharma_rc2.exe

The Aeon Skin has been tested in RC2 and is okay and skin is ready to be released most likely still, wow ...

Hi Wanilton,

i installed rc2 yesterday.

Loaded some daye ago also http://github.com/downloads/Wanilton/VoxCommando/720p.zip
and replaced the files.

I've not downloaded http://github.com/downloads/Wanilton/VoxCommando/skin.AeonMQ-2ok.zip
cause it's not availlable.

So I only changed the files from 720p.zip over the MQ2 V2.1.1 version.
but this is probably not enough?

Siutsch.

PS: Good to have a XBMC professional here in this forum ... :)

SKIN AEON MQ 2 - NEW VERSION 2.5.0
Comments by MarcosMQ:

Ladies and gentlemen, were at least 20 "whole" working for the skin could have a customization mode complete and simple to use. I always wanted to do something that had a decent GUI and not only the buttons on and off, finally I can show you the result.
Besides the issues are back, you can choose which you like best and install with just one click.
On the audio-visual skin now shows the artist's fanart on the main menu, or you can choose your favorite photos and have a slideshow while listening to your music.
I tried to fix all the bugs that were reported and include the extent possible applications.

News:
- Now you can have up to 35 new menu choices, are 15 favorites + 15 Playlist Video + 15 Playlist Audio + 5 Script, and still can, enable, disable, rename, and choose new background images for all of them. Think it over? Not yet!
You can also create new sub-menus, are 310 possible submenus, and they can all be enabled, disabled and renamed in his own way.
Wait, then I can create an entirely new menu? YES!
At Aeon you have MQ 2.5!
I put a bar in the blue and red buttons to show which items are enabled or disabled.

- Themes are back!
For those attached to the skin over time should remind the subjects Warm and Cold colors. There are 5 different themes for you to manually install with just one click.
- Theme light + images Cold Colors
- Theme light + images Warm Colors
- Theme Dark + images Digital Art
- Theme Dark + images Cold Colors
- Theme Dark + images Warm Colors

- Fanart of the artist to hear music or slideshow
The artist's fanart is on by default, you can choose if you want a slideshow with your favorite photos, just go to Styles> Playback.

- Weather
The Weather now accompanies the used visual style and also supports the style colors.

- Included in the skin made by butchabay Mod - Mod FanArt in Launcher Plugin
I am very grateful for the collaboration.

and dozens of fixes and more minor details ...

Enjoy.

Go to the option of XBMC ADD-ONS, choose INSTALL FROM FILE and enter the ZIP file skin.AeonMQ-2-2.5.0.zip site where you downloaded. In less than 30 seconds a message appears saying that the add-on was enabled.

How to install the themes:
Download the theme and do not unpack.
Themes are a self-extracting file, then just download the theme that you like best, click on INSTALL in the window that appears. Then open the skin go to SETTINGS> APPEARANCE and select the theme.

I'll talk to Marcos to prepare a fix for us users voxcommando for the next patch of skin, this will come as defaul., Until then, I'll leave the file  to be overlaid on folder 720p, I think is the best option for hours.
If Marcos get fix this I immediately cast the new file here.

Themes
Themes are executable files that decompress the file to the folder media, thanks to your tip, Marcos managed to operationalize it with sucess.
Language barrier causing trouble again

Skin has been officially launched in the XBMC forum.

- run xbmc, open skin settings and select theme there.

My suggestion will use the file that is okay, overlapping the skin, we will work for users of vox ... what happens is that every now and then this window will show information from the XBMC as errors or updates to the SKIN, beyond the options vox ... what I want is to create something similar, but unique for failing to appear anything other than a voxcommando this window ...

James, please test it and tell me if this ok.

download

Execute the file (i.e. double-click) and it will unzip the file to the correct location on your hard drive.

Please send me the correct file if it is not ok ...

I tested using this command in web browser and the options presented correctly sent in XBMC

Thanks Wanilton,

After you told me that the new dialog wasn't going to be included in the skin, I decided to solve the problem myself.  The next version of VC will have a button in the options, that will automatically update this file for you.

So other than testing, I won't need anything else from you for this.  Sorry I didn't mention it to you sooner.

I also finally figured out how to call a script in XBMC.  I do not know enough about writing scripts for XBMC to fully test this.  I am hoping that I will also be able to pass parameters to the script.  If that is possible it will allow us to do great new things!

Of course once XBMC fully switches over to JSON and disables the http functions we will probably lose this function, but hopefully they won't do that any time soon.  As far as I can tell the new JSON interface is missing a lot of stuff that is in the http interface and adds nothing new, other than better security, which I don't personally care about.

Can you post the parameter to call a script in XBMC?  I have the WOL (Wake on LAN) add-on in XBMC for my network storage that I would like to run from voice command.  Really great software BTW!

I don't know it off-hand, but VoxCommando already has a WOL command.  Why not just use that one?

Hi Colorider40,

welcome in VC-Forum, one of the latest Version (0.86X) can you find here

Attachments removed... there is a newer version

which has many new features. Do always make a backup of the version that you are currently using and then just overwrite the old files with the new.
The download files are not complete, there are patches. Read the whole threat, because there are some patches are distributed up to version 0868.

OOps.  I guess I better take another look at the main page.  Let me know if you need help.

the basic sequence is

-click edit
-choose or add a new group
-add a command and name it
-add a phrase
-double click the command to open the builder
-click the magic wand
-select WOL
-in parameters enter the mac address for the machine to wake.

I don't provide tools to get mac address, so you'll need to find that another way such as typing:    ipconfig/all   on the command line of the computer you are on.
to get the mac addresses of computers you are attached to type at the command line: arp -a

to be able to wake several computer with one command you will want to use a payloadXML file that contains a list of your computers.  The value field of each payload should be the mac address.

I was able to download the latest version, but the WOL command didn't work for me.  My script from XBMC still works however, so I think I've given it the correct MAC address.

WOL has been a feature for a while and I've never had any trouble with it, so I think you may be doing something wrong, or your firewall is getting in the way or something.

If you want to call a script on xbmc you can use the command:

XBMC.ExecBuiltin

with parameters:

RunScript(ScriptNameAsItAppearsInAddonsFolder)

Addons folder is usuall found in:

C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons

All TV tuner that you can use with MP can be used with XBMC with MP server add-on. Look at this topic.

Does anyone know why it does not work with Aeon?  Is it possible that the skin could be updated to support it?

Thanks - I'll download that version and try it.  (install over top of previous?)

also whats the difference between  XBMC 10  and  Dharma RC1 and RC2?

I have tried everything possible and not have it brought to the run (with AEON-Skin). Maybe I've just made some stupid   :bonk but one or the other can try it even once, the version XBMC with working PVR I've posted

uninstall the previous version of XBMC, but everything at your own risk. Look for install or setup info in the files

Oops - delay that request. I installed r355 and not the  CTV.rar file... re-installing proper vers.

ok - installed proper version
put the plug in - in and enabled.

it has hostname   127.0.0.1  do I leave that or change to my IP of my machine on my network?

running in video - it says   WORKING please wait, then says   Server is offline or unavailable.
So I assume I'm suppose to my put machines IP in the hostname?

seems to want a server of sorts.

Maybe it's not finding the plug in?

I put the  plugin.video.tvserver     FOLDER inside the addons folder.

Trying...   moving contends of  plugin.video.tvserver   into  addons folder.
(instructions weren't clear on that).

You're a fast writer  ;D

It was long time ago when I tested it. The ip 127.xxx is ok, run the TVserverxbmc.exe in debug folder MediaportalXBMCserver plugin, I think I always had to start earlier before XBMC has found the server. I currently do not have to test this possibility, since I'm not at home

I ran the exe...  got further.  I now see all my mp (preconfigured) TV channel listings and favorites.
(but still no picture) I click on one and nothing happens.

I'm a bit in a rush since I have to go away = (    but I'll be back tonight.

Just wanted to contribute some answers to questions that came up here:

version 10 came after Dharma rc1 and rc2, which where release candidates for version 10.

RC1 and RC2 could be though of as 9.8 and 9.9 (though that is not technically correct).

the ip address 127.0.0.1 generally translates to "the IP of this computer", also known as "local host", so it will usually work if the server and the client are the same machine.

and YES, this is the best forum with the best members. ;)  hee hee!

Thanks again - yeah - I noticed that 127.0.0.1 - was loading the IP for local host  (since that IP could change).

It took me a month to get MP working - I got this working in 2 minutes, but not including TV yet.  Still looks like it would be 24 hours or so.

Anyway - reason for switching was EG and VoxCommando control. I have a amulet remote and would be nice to voice control music that I'm hearing on the porch... also vol up and vol down via amulet remote.
XBMC feels so much more stable.  Clicking around playing vid n stuff in MP - I was always expecting a crash. (which came true many times). The docs are non exsistant and the support is "vague" to put it nicely. Though I did find some good folks that helped here and there.  I think the issue there is, there are so many people in need of support that there isn't time to address everyone.

Two configuration programs, external to MP - which options were where? then  "team" before media portal so looking for "Media... in program files" was often showig nothing, until I learned "team" then some things were in  programfiles and well others again in programfile data.  It's really a nightmare.  (to many cooks?).  Well I shouldn't complain, - it's free.  And it is cool when it works.

I did have problems with it playing all my video formats.  So far XBMC has played all of them.  (though some of my dvd rips, aren't appearing in the movie library) but that's the least of my questions at this point.
What about messages to/from event ghost?

Ok, here we go....

it was one more hard work ;-)

step 1: deinstall you currently XBMC-Version, unrar my TVxbmc.rar and install xbmcPVR-dharma beta4 start and close it

2: install the "MediaPortal_Setup_1.1.0.exe"

3: copy from the folder "MediaPortal_XBMCServer_plugin_bin_v110_rev100_MP110/release the "TVserverXBMC.dll" and "gentle.config" to Team Mediaportal pluginfolder

4: start the Mediaportal TV Server configuration, go to plugins, mark TVserverXBMC.dll then you must config under TV Server your TVcard an close

5: copy from the folder "TVServer_v110_rev75/TVServer_python_plugin/XBMC 10.x/addons/" the plugin.video.tvserver to the user/username/AppData/Roaming/XBMC/addons folder

6: start XBMC go to system->Add-ons->Enabled Add-ons->PVR clients->and enable "Mediaportal PVR client and MediaPortal TSReader PVR client

PS: I found out that you can in the Task Manager under the Services the TVservice set to stop and restart it, then you need not start the TVserverXBMC.exe

7: go to with Tab to the Folder of the "MediaPortal_XBMCServer_plugin_bin_v110_rev100_MP110/DEBUG and start the "TVServerXBMC.exe" (it start a command windows)

7b: go to homescreen ->videos-> Video add-on -> Mediaportal Server ->Live TV -> all channels (here can you see your running Channels) have a look to the "command window" at Desktop, it may be that you have to start TVserverXBMC.exe once again

8: go back to XBMC -> system -> TV and configure what you need. When you go back to homescreen you have a new menu "Live TV"

sorry for my bad english  :-[  report if it works

Thank you! for the wonderful step by step instructions.

Being lazy ( I skipped the un-install and re-install) I had 1.1.0 mp already installed and already had the  XMBCTV installed.

All was very easy with your excellent instructional steps!

Didn't work (no TV) so I assumed, it wasn't offered in the skin, I had loaded. I went back to the default skin and there it was.
It works!

Now a question or two.

1. MY guide is there, but the channel numbers are all wrong? It counted them  1..2...3...4...5...  rather than actual channel numbers?
I do LOVE the clean guide and the speed at which I Can move through it (faster and cleaner than in MediaPortal).

2. I'm getting a bit of jerky picture like every 1 second I get a speed up - jerky (Jumpy) playback.

3. and no IR control yet.  This was a problem with mediaportal, but I eventually got it working using IRSERVER.  I was in the process of re-doing it in mediaportal when someone suggested I try XBMC...  so I left it in a non working stage in MP.  (must I fix it in MP to get it working in XBMC?)

I got channel change via my STB (Dish) working. Needed to turn on the IRserver again in services.

Still have stutter.. will keep playing...   also - I tested record and it turned on and I couldn't seem to stop it.
(will look into that too) though I record very little if anything.

Mainly now need to smooth picture stream.

that hears fine  ;D

1. any where in the skin you can show to the channel numbers or you can change the chanelnummers in the MP-TV ServerConfiguartions software. I have never tried  ::)

2. search in skin or MP-ConfigServer for buffering - I only use DVB-T and it is running smoothly

3. You can contol XBMC by VoxCommando and EventGhost  8)

XBMC can run in either true full-screen or in a full-screen window.  I think full-screen windows is the default, and I prefer it because it works well with windows desktop composition and you can have overlays on top of it, but true full-screen might be smoother for you.

Oh - I killed it. (trying to look for channel numbers, and video smoothing) I must have changed something and now I don't get a picture.
I'm back to confluence skin.

there is a channel manager. I was able to add my TV icons to the channels in here. (nice).
It has channel name  (I could I imagine in MP - have it rename with channel numbers).  It just would add them to the name.
When I changed channels it did go to the correct channel. (the numbers are just listing the  1...416 channels I have).

Not a big problem.  (problem now is no picture).
I tried to put everything back.

If I -disable- TV the   dos/window server says false.   I enable TV and the  dos/window server loads up all my channels... and waits.
In XM - I click live TV and the server window says.
(get sched count:  ...   0
socket wrist 0

all this seems strange (shouldn't it count all the channels it listed?)

I created a new channel grou - "favs" but when things stopped working - I deleted it.  I wonder if that messed it up.

Upon tring to play one of the listed channels  a  XBMC window says "information - channel can not be played)  OK.

server window says
Socket read:  Timesheiftchannel: 4399 : false : false
handling command;  timeshiftchannel
start timeshift for channel 4399  for user  'XBMCpvrclient3
failed. tvresult - unknownerror
starttimeshifting took 783 ms

I'll try this -  I have stopped it - and then re-ran it -  I thought it always had to be running in the background. (was that just one time to configure it?)
Because now when I run it - it says it's already running.

I'll try and stop and restart it and won't run the .exe again.

Ok, I just had the same problem and did the following:

1. close XBMC (look in the Task Manager if it is really closed) and close the Command window TVserverXBMC.exe

2. then start XBMC again, thats all, it is running

PS: i have also serval problems with TV  that is the reason why I do not use xbmc for TV it is not really good, but test it, i'm not a specialist

running xbmc  (is there a way to look at what vers I'm running?)

It's loading...  (looks like my 17,000 music files (as it does every time I start it) and loading EPC from clients it says. (my channels)
take abot 30-40 seconds and done.

clicking a channel - it asks  Switch? I click switch - I get  pop up  "WORKING" with circle going around and round.  Some disc IO and
pop up - "information  channel can not be played".  with big OK button. = (

Are there logs somewhere?
checking (I see video in arcsoft player from HD-PVR)

Thanks for all your patience with me!

( thought I tried that ) but will do again - killed the service. (Was only one) restarted it.
running xbmc  (is there a way to look at what vers I'm running?)

Are there logs somewhere?
checking (I see video in arcsoft player from HD-PVR)
checking MP...
No working TV on MP any longer either.  grrr -

ok, the TVservice from Mediaportal is not stable, when you look a serval minutes of LiveTv and will change to a other chanel it hang's   :'(

hmmm - looking at this
I wonder if  the re-location of my time shift buffer is causing the problem -  trying to put it back.

Good luck

Got it working - changed the timeshift back to default folder. Got MP working again.
XBMC still didn't
disabled TV,  turned TV server off and restarted.
loaded XBMC and re-enabled TV
now I see TV again  And STB (IRserver) is changing channels again.  whew.

Seeing banding (interlacing) trying to turn it off in options.

hmmm (jittering) seems to have subsided, but I get a strange banding (looks l ike interlacing) and I can't chance the interlace option.
I have before?

HD-material is very memory and CPU intensive, and the graphics card has to work a lot

yeah,  I know - but I'm able to play HD video  I shoot  1920x1080 HD no problem at all, even 60fps stuff.
MP was pretty stable with my HD TV stream.  IT had some problems playing some of my studio formats.

XBMC seems more stable with my videos formats, but a little less with TV.  (quite a bit of jitters on fast panning scenes - to much to update at once).
I don't get this in MP.

HOWEVER - I'm starting to think I'd like to program a   voice command  "WATCH TV" and have it change  my tv's source to  "TV STB" (via the usb irt).
that would solve all TV programs. (except recording, which I rarely use).

Then voice command "Media Center"  to switch the TV source from  TV STB to  "PC" HDMI input.
Maybe I can just program a button on the Amulet remote for the source change. (though would be nice if it allowed a string/multiple buttons... macro you might say).

hmmm will have to think on this.  surely - the voice controll for movies and better yet music is awesome so far.

Rojoyinc,

why do not you use WMC for LiveTV? It is very stable and controlled almost TV-cards. Do you have a Firewire port on your HTPC? Then check out this card, is one of the best that you can get for money.

i have no firewire on my HTPC  :'(

Kalle. I need a little help with tv in XBMC, look this vídeo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78Cz0Bx_LkU&feature=player_embedded (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78Cz0Bx_LkU&feature=player_embedded)

My friend need one way for call channel for name, using vox, do you have commands for this situation?? (payload or smartplaylist or one custom XML using SQL maybe)
Here link for XBMC eden Release Candidate 2 with PVR, link for download here
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7249985/xbmc/xbmc-11.0-Eden_rc2_pvr-margro.exe (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7249985/xbmc/xbmc-11.0-Eden_rc2_pvr-margro.exe)

Installation notes:
This build is NOT compatible with the old Dharma PVR builds. This build and may break your existing Dharma/Pre-Eden databases.
To prevent incompatibility problems, uninstall previous XBMC (pre-)Eden builds and cleanup the EPG?.db, addon?.db and TV??.db files in your XBMC userprofile directory.

TV Server here:

Hi Wanilton, I do not use xbmc for watching TV, I have tested it, but it is long time ago. I think you can use xbmc.execbuiltin command to call the channels.
I install XBMC with PVR, but this take a while.

Greetings Kalle

Hi Wanilton.  Is there a way to tune to a channel using a remote control or some other device, other than using the arrow keys?  If so that might give us a clue how to do it with Voxcommando.  I don't have a tuner or use the PVR version of XBMC so I can't tell you much without more information.  :P

It also seems like there are many variations of PVR setups for XBMC with different back and front ends.  It looks confusing.

Wow agora que vi que o voxcommando tem o fórum Wanilton.

Postei lá no htforum

Wanilton,

Olhei dentro do programa VOXCOMMANDO e achei mais alguns comandos que já simplificaram achar e selecionar canais.
Comandos tipo Scrow down/up, Scrow down/up slow, jumper letter, etc
Então não se apoquente... Take it easy, hshahsahsah
Se conseguir bem, senão vou usando assim mesmo, agora ficou bem mais fácil.

&feature=youtu.be

Obrigado por se preocupar em achar uma solução.
Parabéns para os desenvolvedores, excelente programa.
Espero no próximo mês comprar o VOX e o Amulet. Só não compro esse mês porque gastei uma boa grana em um aparelho de satélite lançamento Dreambox DM 7020 HD Twin.
Vlw !

Wanilton Great, thanks for all the help.
To go to the xbmc pictures, run the vox ExecBuiltin (ActivateWindow (MyPictures))
I ask: What is the ExecBuiltin for Live TV?
