Post by: chilliman on July 20, 2015, 10:26:58 PM
Hi.
when i try and run the any of the ITunes play X commands none of them work (but the basic ITunes commands work fine).
i looked at the XML files in ITunes Payloads - songs start of file listed below in the phrase potion there are number and not song names is this correct

  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
- <!-- A VoxCommando Payload file
  -->
- <PayloadsRoot>
- <payload>
  <value />
  <phrase>9193074</phrase>
  <subsetmatching>true</subsetmatching>
  </payload>
- <payload>
  <value />
 <phrase>8647369</phrase>
  <subsetmatching>true</subsetmatching>
  </payload>
- <payload>
  <value />
  <phrase>7180205</phrase>
  <subsetmatching>true</subsetmatching>
  </payload>
- <payload>
....................................................................
if not how do i get it to be correct, any help would great.
thanks

Hi Chilliman,

That is not normal.  The Payload file should contain titles (words) not numbers.

Would you mind sending me your iTunes Music Library.xml file so I can have a look at it to see if I can figure out why it might be different?

You can send it to me by email using info at v-xc-mm-ndo-.com ;)

Or you can post it here if you prefer.

Thanks.

Never mind.  I've just updated to the latest iTunes and see the same thing happening here now.  iTunes has drastically altered their xml format for some reason.  I will try to see about a fix for it as soon as I can find the time.

Sorry!

OK.  Since you may not want to wait for the next release of VoxCommando here is an update to the iTunes plugin that will hopefully fix your issue.

1 - Make sure VC is not running
2 - Download the attached .dll and replace the one that is in your VoxCommando\plugins\iTunes folder with the new dll.
3 - It is important to note that sometimes when you download a dll from a web page, Windows will block it.  To avoid this, after you download the dll file into the correct folder, you should right-click it, and select properties.  Then if you see a button at the bottom that says "Unblock" you should click it.  If you don't see the button then you probably don't need to do anything.
4 - Run VC and generate your iTunes XML again.

Please let me know if it works correctly now.

.dll removed.  Install the latest version of VC instead
