VoxCommando is extremely customizable

You decide which programs to control.
You decide which commands you want to use. Getting rid of commands you don't need increases the computer's ability to detect speech accurately.
You decide exactly how to trigger your commands and what parameters to use. You can choose any phrase to trigger a command, and you can assign multiple phrases to the same command easily.
You can also create complex phrasing strategies for more natural speaking.
- you can include optional phrase segments (i.e. a command can optionally begin with the word 'please').
- you can create "aliases" for objects used in commands. For example: "Livingroom light" could mean the same as "Overhead Light"
