Click here for a video tutorial showing the very simple installation steps for iTunes. Please note: this video is quite old and the audio was muted by Youtube because there is a short demo which includes part of a Beatles song. We recommend you just follow the instructions below. It's easy!

Preparing iTunes

In newer versions of iTunes you must first change a setting in iTunes to make your library data available to VoxCommando

  • In iTunes go to Edit >> Preferences >> Advanced
  • Make sure the box labelled "Share iTunes Library XML with other applications" is checked.

Install VoxCommando

  • During installation you will be asked to choose a standard configuration. At this point choose iTunes.

Scan your library

  • Once installed you will need to scan your iTunes media library (GenXML).
    • From the main menu click "GenXML" and then "iTunes". VoxCommando will scan your library and then rebuild the necessary commands.
    • Note: If you are unable to scan your library using GenXML please see "Preparing iTunes" above.

=Start using Voice commands.

To see a list of the pre-configured iTunes commands, click on "Help" > "Build Voice Menu" in VoxCommando's main menu.

As always, you can modify these commands to suit your own phrasing preferences and build your own commands from scratch as well.
