First of all a really big thank-you to Kalle for providing me with the Huawei watch for development and testing. This never would have happened otherwise!
This video shows off the new beta version of VoxWav (called VoxWear 2.0) which is coming soon to the Google Play store and is customized to run on Android Wear 2.0.
This is an early beta (alpha?) developed and tested on a Huawei version 1 watch running a developer preview of Wear 2.0. This version of the app turns Bluetooth off on startup and enables WiFi in order to make direct WiFi communication to VoxCommando possible.
The video shows tilt to speak mode, and then a close-up of the UI and the push to speak method. Other features shown include text to speech on the watch, OSD messages and clickable alternates commands list on the watch.
The app UI includes time, date, and battery percentage.
A summary of changes for each version can be found here: Change Log
All users are encourage to periodically update VoxCommando to take advantage of new features and bug fixes. Before posting to the forum about a bug make sure you are using the latest version of VoxCommando available.

Sorry for the long period of inactivity. I had a lot of other things to deal with over the summer but I hope to have more time to dedicate to the VC project in the coming months.
Recently we redoubled our efforts to translate more of the UI for VoxCommando into other languages.
We are attempting to localize (translate) the primary elements of VoxCommando’s UI into the following languages. Some of these languages are now mostly complete:
Note: We are particularly interested in translating the UI into Spanish and Italian. Spanish is partly done. For Italian we currently have only computer translations (Bing).
- German (thanks to Kalle and Dave)
- Russian (thanks to Pioneer and friends)
- Portuguese-BR (thanks to Marcus and Wanilton)
- French (complete but needs verification)
- Spanish (partly complete but many translations are computer generated)
- Italian (computer generated translations only)
Please ASK first if you are unsure what the English means. In order to provide good quality translations you need to be somewhat familiar with VoxCommando. Doing translations and asking us questions is a great way to become more familiar with VoxCommando and to discover features you did not know about!
There is a lot of material that needs to be translated and there will be more to do in the future. Please do not feel that you need to translate everything by yourself. If a few people help in each language it will hopefully not become an unpleasant chore for anyone.
Please do not change any column other than the one for the language you are translating. (NOTE: If any of the first 3 columns are edited, this will make it impossible for us to merge the changes back into VoxCommando!)
If you see a translation in your language that you think is wrong, you can make a comment in the comment column, or you can right-click a cell and add a note. Or you can make a suggestion on the forum.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed for all your help. We really appreciate it!
This ain’t no jive… It’s 18.104.22.168.
Version 2.7.1 of VoxWav Pro is now available on the Google Play Store.
If you wish to use some of the new features in VoxWav Pro (such as “prefix mode”) you will also need to upgrade VoxCommando to the latest version.
Special thanks to forum user AgileHumor for his generous donation of a Vera Edge for us to play with.

This is a pretty big release. Although there are no major changes such as new plugins, this version is chock full of updates, fixes, and minor new features.
This version should be very stable but we won’t know for sure until our users take it for a spin.
I was hoping to include an update to the MediaBrowser plugin with this release, but it was taking too long so I decided to release this now and then work on MB for the next update.

- Updated Google Calendar plugin (now working with Google’s v3 api). You are no longer required to use a username and password but will be required to allow VC access to your calendar.
- GgCal plugin is otherwise mostly the same except for some minor changes to the payloads in timer events. See GgCal on the wiki for more info.
- Preset configurations for Kodi / Helix (XBMC 14) in English, French and German.
- Some new actions for the X10 plugin (such as X10.QueryPlc). See the X10 page on the wiki.
Kodi (XBMC for you oldie-gone-mouldies) version 14 “Helix” is officially here and so far it looks like VoxCommando continues to work perfectly with this new version.
There are some minor changes that you might need to make, so check out this forum post if you are planning to use “Helix” with VoxCommando:
If any new problems show up we will try to update that forum thread with more information.
