Input Error: ComException
« on: July 18, 2015, 05:04:15 PM »
Recently, I got the following error message.  Any suggestion on where to troubleshoot?  Tried reconnecting my usb mic, tried reinstalling VC and also took my computer back to a restore point.  Nothing helped.

Gee whiz.

You "got the following error message"?

Could you maybe give us a hint of when you see this message, under what circumstances it happens, and how it affects what you are trying to do?  What plugins you are using or what other programs you are trying to control.

Any other information you can think of that might help?  Version of OS.  Version of VC etc.

You might want to try the action: VC.SetSpeechInput

or go to Windows advanced speech settings and check your microphone settings.

If you use VC.SetSpeechInput with no parameter it should set it to use the Default microphone.

Will try it this week and report back.  Also will upgrade to the latest VC version.

Stick with the latest stable version for now.  2.1.4.8

Ok, sorry for the delay.

My system setup is as follows:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
VC Version 2.1.4.2

After looking into my issue I found a few hardware conflicts on my system.  Corrected the hardware conflicts, upgraded to VC version 2.1.4.8.  All seems to be working again.
