Probleme bei der Einrichtung/Erkennung von VoxCommando
« on: December 31, 2013, 06:32:06 PM »
Moin zusammen,

You might need to wait for Kalle (or Dave) to get proper support since I think that I am probably not understanding everything perfectly after using google translate to convert your message to English.  Kalle is on vacation right now and I'm not sure when he will be home.

My first question is "what do you mean by a simple headset".  Can you please be more specific about the model, or at least the type of headset and how it is connected to your computer.

Next:
What configuration did you select when you first started VoxCommando?
Did you select "Deutsch" and then select "XBMC 12 Frodo.zip" ?

or are you trying to use the English configuration for Frodo?

If you are using VoxCommando in German, you must have German language packs installed in Windows.
If you are using VoxCommando in English, you must have English language packs installed in Windows.

Suggestions:
If you are not sure you are saying the commands right, then you should use the main menu to go to "help" >> "Build voice menu" >> "all groups" (see image below)
This will open a web page that shows you all the voice commands that you can use.

You can run VoxCommando for a few minutes with logging enabled, and try to issue 5 or 6 voice commands.  Then reply to this forum topic and attach your log file: "voxLog.txt"
Maybe this will help us to see what is going wrong.

I give it a shot and try to answer in english. ;)

The Headset I tried is called Logitech ClearChat Style http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-000018-Stereo-Headset-H230/dp/B000OAHOVO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388532129&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+clearchat+style and I tried the App Mobilato for iOS with a iPhone 5s. The headset is connected by 3,5 mm line-in connector.

Yes, I selected XBMC 12 Frodo and installed all like I've seen it in a YouTube Videos from Kalle. That was for VoxCommando Vers. 0.980 but it seems to be more or less the same.

I installed VoxCommando in German, but tried the English one too. English don't work for me since VoxCommando starts with an error message that I've only a German Windows Version.
Microsoft Hedda desktop - German TTS-Voice is set in the Options. It's the only one I could find for download, since the german Windows Version comes with an english TTS.

I've attached the log, but it's pretty much empty so I made a Screenshot from VoxCommando.

Windows Einstellungen weiter experimentieren.

Dir noch einen schönen Urlaub.

Gruß Fenron

I've attached the log, but it's pretty much empty so I made a Screenshot from VoxCommando.

The log file is empty because you need to enable the log.

http://voxcommando.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Main_Menu#Enable_Log

What commands are you trying to say?

One thing you can try is to use windows built-in speech recognition, and to do some profile training.  If you are able to use Windows speech recognition, then you can expect VoxCommando to work at least as well, usually better.

Try adusting the input level of your headset in windows audio settings.  Because you are using an analog input with a mic jack you will need to adjust the "microphone boost".  Try different levels, but the sound bar in windows and in VoxCommando should only go to about 20% to 30% at most.

@James
Thanks, seems to work now. My main problem was that Windows/Vox can't understand the commands because of the Mic settings.

@Kalle

jemand eins loswerden will.

If you are able to record your voice and save it to a wav file, then this will allow us to determine if the headset microphone you are using is part of the problem or not.

Ideally, you should record yourself saying some common commands from the Frodo configuration, so that we can test them on our systems to see what happens.

@Kalle
Super, danke!

@jitterjames
Ok, at first I try some more settings, otherwise I record a few commands for you.

Thx alot for your help.

Please tell us approximately how many songs and how many movies you have in your XBMC library.

@Kalle

@jitterjames
It looks like this:
~36k Songs
~60 TV Shows
~700 Movies

That is a lot of songs.  It will probably work but it will take some time to load.  You might want to filter which songs you are using or delete the command for playing a song by name.  You would still be able to ask for music by artist or album name.

If you want to be able to play songs by name, you could apply an sql filter to only include songs that have a rating of greater than 3 stars (for example).  If you are using the Xsql plugin change the plugin settings so that the line for Songs.xml looks like this:
Code: [Select]
select idSong,strTitle from song where rating>3We are adding  where rating>3

then run GenXML again.

TV shows and Movies should be no problem.
