BEAM IR/RF Wifi transceiver / Re: LinknLink App causes Beams to crash
« Last post by PegLegTV on March 30, 2024, 11:21:21 AM »
Hey Kalle,

I tried it with IR events enabled and disabled and both times the Beams would still crash.

I also installed the LinknLink app on a old cell phone and on the app's first launch (no app configuration, or devices setup in the app) the Beams would still crash.

I aslo tested by unpluging the eRemote and launching the LinknLink App and it would still crash the Beams.

This is why I was thinking the LinknLink app is pinging each device on the network and not using Bluetooth to find its own devices.

Thanks,
PegLegTV

Hi PegLeg,
do you have the IR events active on both beams?
Or does this also happen when the eRemote Blaster is not connected?
I can't imagine how the app could trigger this as it uses Bluetooth to find the eRemote Blaster.

Kalle

BEAM IR/RF Wifi transceiver / LinknLink App causes Beams to crash

Hey guys its been a long time,

I have an interesting situation that I thought you might find interesting and possibly have an answer to how this is even happening.

I bought a cheap LinknLink eRemote to test with Home Assistant and found an odd issue after doing some testing:

If I open the LinknLink app on my phone the Beam 2.0 and Beam ray crashes and becomes unreachable. (I cant say if the Beam original crashes, it's not currently in use)

If the app is left open when I unplug the Beam for 30 seconds and plug it back in, the Beam will flash the yellow light, then the green light, but it is still unreachable. I tried swiping the app away but the Beam was still unreachable.

The only way to get the beam back 'online' is to swipe the app away and then unplug the Beams for 30 seconds and plug it back in.

My guess is that the LinknLink app is pining each device on the network to see if its one of their devices and the Beam doesnt like the packet being sent to it and cause the Beam to crash.

It took me a bit to figure out it was the LinknLink app, I also tested on another phone with a fresh install of the LinknLink app so it should be repeatable by downloading the LinknLink app and onpening it to see if your Beams crash too.

I'm only able to test with Android phones.

side note: I found out that the Home Assistant hacs linknlink intergration doesn't work with the eRemote yet, but they are currently working on the intergration.

I did not like the direction Ezlo was going so I switched to Hubitat.  So if the API has changed from what we were using with Vera you will have to use HTTP actions.  I won't be making a plugin for Ezlo, but you probably don't really need one, as long as they have a decent http API.

Here is a starting point.
https://support.ezlo.com/hc/en-us/articles/8165438132252-Ezlo-Platform-How-to-Use-HTTP-API-Commands-AKA-Luup-Requests

The simplest thing would probably be to turn off authentication in Ezlo, and then start with something simple to see if you get a response.

https://192.168.0.11:17000/v1/method/hub/info/get

You would need to use the correct IP address for you hub.

Hello all,

I have been using vera for a few years now. Now that Ezlo aquired Vera and made it's own Ezlo line, could we also integrate Ezlo API with Vox Commando? If there is anyway I can assist please let me know!

Note: I've been using Vera Plus and now bought an Ezlo Plus. The old Vera method doesn't exist in Ezlo, they made it more cloud based and you can disable authentication via Cloud API GUI.

Cheers,
Powers

Поддержка русского языка / Re: Problem with playing wav files

That's a weird one.  I don't have any ideas how that might happen but I do see in the log that VoxCommando was installed in C:\Program files (x86)

It should not be installed in program files.  There is a BOLD notice when you first install VC that you should not put it there.

Maybe try a clean installation to a normal unprotected folder like C:\VoxCommando (for example) and see if it makes any difference.

Also, I don't know but maybe rename the wav file using only ascii characters?

Windows 11 German
VoxCommando v2.3.1.1b

Может быть у Вас будет какая либо идея решения данной проблемы?
Заранее спасибо!!!

Приложу файл с логами.
