Enable and disable groups in Event Ghost
« on: September 28, 2016, 06:28:31 PM »
Hi guys. Hope someone can help.
Can anyone explain a method of disabling and enabling groups on event ghost like you can on  vox.

I have tried using the enable exclusive, but it does a poor job of disabling others in the same macro.  Unless I have not been doing it right. The examples and web forums don't help either.

I want to use this in tandem with vox to disable programs with vox while EG disables remote commands based on what program is focused.  It works at the moment without the feature but it will cause problems in the long run as its limited to only a small  number of remote buttons .
Any help is much appreciated..

It works exactly the way it is described in the program.  That description which appears in EventGhost when you create or edit this type of macro is very clear.

Enable exclusive will enable the specified macro or folder and disable all the other ones that are on the SAME LEVEL in the SAME SUBBRANCH of the tree.

It has always worked fine as far as I know.  If you are hoping to affect macros or groups that are in a different part of the EventGhost tree from the one you are enabling then it won't work.  You need to rethink the layout of your tree.

Hi James. Thanks for replying to my question.

Yes it works but say once I switch to exclusive
Chrome when it was on exclusive kodi.
I check on event ghost that it's still on exclusive kodi.
Which means vox will work but remote won't.
I basically have cameras chrome and kodi macro and in each I Set to exclusive. With their own remote macro configured.
But when  I interchange between them . I see Eventghost only remains on kodi.
Will have to dig deeper.
Thank you again

It's pretty hard to know what you are talking about if you don't show us your EventGhost XML.  I also don't know what VoxCommando has to do with any of it.

Maybe you should make a video demonstrating what is happening.

Did you post your question on the EventGhost forum?
